I'm not 100% sure if this qualifies, but here is a repost of my earlier comment - which may be related?
 
 
I have no idea if this was just a fluke that I experienced or if this fits the bill, but it worked for me! This door opened right up and I had NOT collected many Basin shards [perhaps 2]; plus I was already wearing the Arishok's Vitaar (so I had already utilized the vanilla games full complement of shards as well).

That door does not require shards from the Frostbacks, it will open up with any 12 shards collected from anywhere.

Another Veil Quartz (not sure if this is posted elsewhere, I couldn't find a reference).
From Cliffside Camp, take the stairs down to ground level and you'll be on a path that goes up around a tree. If you run along the edge of the cliff behind the tree you'll run into another with a bush in front. Head left around that tree and past the board path on the right. At the end you'll see below you the end of a dead tree poking from the cliff face.

Jump onto the rock at the end, then down to a flat space and you can reach the tree safely, once inside...

I wonder if this refers to the chanting giant skeleton ontop of one of the towers of Nigel's Point.................i stood there for a while listening, nothing happened though, i even turned the volume up to see if any of it made sense or pointed to something, but, nope.

The 3rd Door(?) you can unluck with the tile puzzle?

This one is just a guess, but there was another way to finish the puzzle other than just the doors on either side of it. Its basically the inverse of one of the 2 doors puzzles, I think just the center light is illuminated. But never the less, Phwamo! It acts like another door opened, but I can't find it.

 

I Think I found the Third Door, it is at the lowest level of Nigel's Point, there is a hallway that lead to a chest and a locked door, from where you meet the  research assiastant.
