As many know recently the Dragon Age Facebook page ran an 'Ultimate Party' contest to determine who was the best three characters from the game, etc. For various reasons up to the consious of the individuals player's and their opinions.
Well, since I have always had an 'ultimate' party in my playthroughs of both ME and DA this got me to thinking about my ultimate party from the three games and then it got me curious as to everyone else's opinions on the matter.
SO who would be in your ultimate party? And as always, why? Is it because of charqacter synergy? Personal preference? Or tactical and skill reasons?
And since I have an alternate in all my parties, I may be cheating, but never the less.
Cassandra- She is my favorite character in the entire Dragon Age series now after Inquisition. And perhaps one of my favorite female characters in all of media. I just love her to bits. She is a delightful study in contradictions. She is a warrior woman, yet sexy in her own way and romantic. Principled, yet willing to challenge herself, faithful, but not blind. Wonderfully voice acted and wonderfully emotive. Plus, she also belongs in the most 'handy' companion camp of all of the Companions in a way, her Rally ability in Inquisition was a life saver. I always got a good chuckle when Solas had max guard because of her. And, she was just a bid arse who took on bosses, dragons, and giants often single handed as my mage engaged from the back ranks or dealt with the minions. That is until he became a Knight Enchanter and was able to join her on the front ranks...
Dorian Pavus- Dorian was a character that was treated with surprising depth and consideration...given the potential for him to be *just* the gay character. Or *just* a soap box for the writers to comment on 'real world' issues, awkwardly wading through them and trying to connect Thedas and our world together, two worlds with very different societal considerations. Yet, I feel they were successful. Plus, while he came off as arrogant and brash he was mostly harmless because he did not believe his own propaganda and had no pretense to 'rule ze world'. Plus, his Necromancer Specialization was occasionally handy.
Varric Tethras- Great character. A constant bro, story teller, rogue, businessman, and archer...that is like all the awesome things rolled into one. And, he pulled this off successfully. While I did not like him as much in Inquisition, maybe getting drowned out in the other stellar performances, he was able to hold his own in the group. Also, sadly he was not good for combat. But, he was a part of some of the best character moments in the game, and a person I try to emulate.
Anders- He was, an interesting character. In the unpopular opinion camp I liked his portrayl in DA 2 more then Awakening, though in my first Awawkening play through...I sold him to the Templars. I did this because, thought he was a bit of a jerk at first....and I thought I read we could recruit him later. Well, that will teach me for making decisions based on information from the Wiki. So DA 2 was my first experience in the end. And, he was a good character. His character arc and romance was...full of emotion. He was a libertarian, agan after my own heart, and despite being driven to extreme actions, actions I can hardly agree with...he did it to set his people free, but not free to rule, but free to be equal in the eyes of the law. Plus, his specilization was cool, though more in the heavy risk but the priiizzee camp.
