I was having such a great time with my new modded DAI ..I was using new Skyhold outfit and all kind cool new mods...But today i made a mistake of updating my origin client and the game to try new Hakkon DLC and now my mods won't work anymore...EA breaks mods with every patch WTF...Why EA Why you hate your customers so much?

Dying Light Devs did the same thing but they realized their mistake and released new update to allow modders to freely mod Dying Light Single player content. Why Bioware can't support their fans in same way as Techland, Bethesda and CD Project RED :(

Patches always break mods.

That's normal.
It's up to the modders to make their mods compatible with the new patches. Not the other way around.

I'm a fan of mods as much as anyone, but programming and game development is hard enough without having tip toe around things that modders create as well.

I'm sure the modders will adapt.

Besides, though I'm not expert, I don't think it's even feasible that the devs would check every single mod out there to see what files they affect and then make a patch that somehow leaves those specific files untouched.

Here we go again...

Just go read this thread on Reddit, please! It contains explanations from Bioware directly:

This is why i don't like using mods until the games quite established and most additions are already in..

Why can't they make their game mod friendly like Dying Light and Skyrim? DyingLight was also having similar problems but Techland fixed it by releasing patch which made all the mods compatible with latest patch updates

here check this...

Dying Light PC Patch Re-Enables Mod Support

http://www.gamerassa...es-mod-support/

Techland has released Dying Light on PC’s latest patch which addresses general bug fixes, exploits, and more importantly, re-enables mod support.

If they can do it then why can't Bioware.?

Don't think mods will work now...Modding DAI is extremely difficult now thanks to latest patch 6 according to Nexus modders..

AAA devs like CD RED, Volition, Bethesda and Techland openly supports modding community whereas Bioware stops their fans from modding their game..Heck even Capcom allows modding..You can mod RE4,5,6 and Revelations 1 and 2 and play online without any issues, they never stop their fans or block mods via patches like Bioware...

Bioware has said from the beginning that there will be no modding support for DA:I. It's an unfortunate side effect from working with third parties, is my understanding. Nor do they any longer have any full say in providing modding tools for their fans. They are not against modding.  Dubya75 provided the reddit link for the most recent discussion.

Patch updates also broke Skyrim mods periodically.

That being said, mods will not currently work with Patch 6.  There is a workaround, if you don't want to play the DLC, just roll back to Patch 5.

If you want the DLC then it's the trade-off that has to be made, unfortunately.

Post edited because the links were not authorized.  I must've missed that in the FAQs.  My apologies.  If you are interested in mods and modding, then daitools forum is a good place to look for updates.  :)

You do realize you sound like a spoiled brat that's been denied something for the first time, right?

Frostbite 3 (which is the engine that DA:I runs on) is extremely hard to mod in the first place.  It's not like BW can just flip a switch and make the game mod-friendly.  It's not that BW's against modding (DA:O has hundreds, if not thousands, of mods because BW released the toolset for it), it's that EA itself is not all that mod-friendly.  If it was up to BW, I'm pretty sure that a toolset would've been released for it by now.

EA makes the final decisions, not BW.  If you have a problem with that, take it up with EA.  Either that, or shut up and...

None of that looked condescending to me.

You can't really put all the blame on Bioware for this, they're using an engined created by DICE. DICE themselves said the Frostbite Engine was not designed to be modular at all, so the fact that people are able to mod DAI in any form is already lucky. The modders themselves might've cracked the engine open or maybe Bioware did something to allow a small amount of modding, who knows.
