While you are right, bruh, this might look the part but Pillars of Eternity is not on Infinity Engine :P  It's (modified) Unity Engine.

Everyone keeps talking about IE games though.

Because the Infinity Engine was a really limited/pinpoint engine that had such similarly playing games, that you could almost call IE a style or subgenre of roleplaying games. Kinda like "Gold Box games", although those games literally did come in gold-colored boxes too.

Outside of enhanced editions, Infinity Engine hasn't seen use since 2001

Edit: Wait, am I getting subtly trolled here? Because if so, I fell for that

welp, i made it to act2 last night and i'm totally fangirling over it (i never expected myself to be so... amazed) - i've said earlier the RP options are limited, they are but... it fits me, i have too much fun with the story, NPCs, sidequests and combat to care. at this point there is only one negative aspect of this game - it ends. i'm already planning solo potd/toi/expert PT, especially with the 10% buff in the next patch (a little more than a week after release!) it should be... doable?

tbh, i couldn't care less if it's IE or Unity3D, CryEngine, Frostbite3 or GameMaker

No. I, in general, have no idea about these engines. I only know about IE because... everybody including reviewers, kept mentioning it, and about Frostbite 3.

Because Frostbite 3 (shooter engine) + Mass Effect (shooter at heart) gets my blood pumpin :P

Been playing it for awhile now, and I am liking the game more and more. Ran into a huge dragon in a cave, too. It didn't go well. I think I will return in about 10 levels and try again.

The stronghold upgrades are nice too, and they seem to actually be meaningful. I wish DA:I had gone that route with Skyhold, it would have added much more fun to the game.

You say that now, but i found the fortress to be less relevant than Skyhold. Personal preference i suppose. As much as there is to be done at the fortress in Pillars there is never any reason to actually be there.

This. All those resting bonuses are great, but if you have to travel for a day to get somewhere it isn't that great.

Besides, you can't get bonuses like in certain taverns (+2 con +2 int +2 might? Yes please)

I just 'rush' to the producing buildings as quick as possible (curio shop and botanical garden)

Not far south if Defiance Bay. An area with hot streams and things like that. filled with drakes and the like. Huge dragon in a cave. Its tied to a quest you get in Defiance Bay. I think I got it in the Archives.

I'll give Wardens post the thumbs up as it supplies you with bounties. The quest have challenging encounters aswell as rewarding good items and alot of xp.

It's not that I stop building afterwards, I just get those buildings as quick as possible :P

I made good on my deception of a child earlier: I saved one in Heritage Hill heh.

Anyway:
Spoiler

I suppose I should continue the story, cause storywise I've only visited the temple of Woedica in Defiance Bay.

Someone showed me a Barbarian build with 10 Constitution with high dexterity and some perception. So I started my Barbarian over again. I hope that it works. It does have higher damage.

A forum is literaly a wall of text. Makes me wonder how you can stand being here...

But seriously, there are plenty of voiced lines in PoE and reading is only part of gameplay. Seriously, poeple with the attention span of a goldfish shouldn't set a standard for anything.

And you just proved Lotion's case.  While he can come off as a bit 'harsh' he does make a few excellent points. Reading is a necessary comprehension for forums and intellectual debates. It's even theorised (I say theorised because there's no way in hell I'm doing a short paper on this) that reading helps your brain function so by simply refusing to read long paragraphs 'Coz day be 2 difficult' is BS. I've known people with bad eyesight that still read religiously.

I do actually fear for society when they say something is too long to read. The core cruxes of discovering and learning knowledge is from reading things "that are too long" go to University you have to read textbooks, lecture slides, journal articles. Hell even High School can have parts where you read long text. To avoid a decline in societies intellectual capacity we need to read more. Even if you... *shudders* buy online books.

To summarise for people who suffer from long sentence reading syndrome (LSRS)

Reading be good.

It's just so abandoned. I would have thought they'd stuff it with more NPCs so it would actually look populated.

Ah that's a little disappointing. I figured it was because I'd focused on the defense more than prestige and once I built up the prestige a little it would be a hub of activity.

Hopefully it's something they build on to be more than being a way to temporarily boost stats.

i think we should all reflect. In this certain situation. Lotion was right. His toned ever inspired others to go against the stance of too long to read. This isn't the troll channel. I have to say I agree. Lotion is able to describe this situation making a few solid points on the way. A person like this has experience talking or dealing with people. It's embarrassing someone saw fit tell him too long can't read. That person sticks out of a sore thumb. Unlike other places. The meanest and more horrible to each other are not the best here. We have respect for one another. What he said about too long is completely out of line. I ask he redeem himself by issuing an official apology to amend his face. If he doesn't have the character. I believe we will know what type of person this is.

I thank Lotiona and despair demon for raising the stranded of these fourms to say no we don't accept this type of language. It's both wrong and not tolerated.

No, it just gets populated by your hirelings. Some upgrades don't even look different (or at least I can't see a difference) e.g. the forum. Frankly even the stat boots I find underwhelming vs. some inns that do +2 might, +2 con, +2 dex. That's a total +6 boost vs. +1 to whatever stat. The only kind of useful thing is the + mechanics if you've got some traps left over that you need to farm for XP.
