Wouldn't more uniques just increase your chance of finding them?
Not if 90% of the uniques are low level garbage, like they are now.

Yes?
Uhm, did I get this right? OP doesn't want new items added cause he's missing the old items still?
I'd rather take new items now than after getting all the old items and then realizing they're of no use cause there's new and better ones and that I've spent all my money on items that are no longer useful.
I have no HoK items either, and have spent about 380K gold by now.
But I do want more stuff added, all the time. GEIF MOAR NAOW.
Not to worry though, there are many blue weapons that are at least as good than the top tier weapons.
lol:-) u know m8, i spent almost 700k gold and dont have any HoK rings and i´m still missing most of the top-tier gear....so good luck:-)))) i was always saying, RNG is RNG, but when i hear it now .....
I am concerned about the speculation that there will be a rogue character with a crossbow. Introducing the possibility of a 15 or so garbage crossbows and 1 BiS to dilute the pool. Also, not sure if they would allow Archer and hunter to go bow or crossbow or if it would be kit specific (like Bianca).

This is what I am worried about. Bad enough there are so many items only 2 classes can use let alone 1.

"You have posted more than the allowed number of quoted blocks of text"
Courtnehh used all their luck to get that last quote. They will never get good purple loot on DAMP anymore.
Jaws of Hakkon items are all level 23–25 uniques. I wouldn't mind seeing them in the multiplayer. They are a bit OP though.
Yeah, they would only make sense if you have a map with lvl 17-20 enemies not the current 13-17 perilious.
I'm sure we will see a "Nightmare" difficulty setting at some point.
Another thing I thought of. With the addition of new weapons/armor at some point they are probably going to have to raise our inventory cap. I already have to constantly salvage stuff to make sure I have enough room when buying chests. The problem will be amplified when new items are introduced.
I'm lucky enough to have received the longbow of the griffon and sulevin. Still no Caliban, purple cooldown necklace, or Heal on Kill rings. If I could peel myself away from the Keeper I would play my Archer and Katari more, but it's hard ![]()
Also Killstreak, somehow we still haven't grouped together for some DAMP runs, we have to fix that!
Wouldn't more uniques just increase your chance of finding them?
No. It would decrease your chances because it changes the probabilities. That's why I suggested that people should craft their armor as earlier as possible to increase their chances of getting better gear.

I'm not too well versed in probabilities but wouldn't that change according to how many items were introduced in the DLC?
Let's say it only brings 1 high level unique of each item type and nothing more.

Yes. Any additions lowers your chances for one particular item. Too use the old marbles analogy:
If you were trying to get 1 black marble where 499 of them are red, then those are already bad odds. Would it make more sense to wait for someone to dump 100 more red marbles in or to scoop out 200 of the existing red marbles before the next 100 comes? It's not like saying "well adding 20 new black marbles ups the chances for getting a the one you're looking for". You would then be making all uni/rares into black marbles in that case. The number of marbles in the jar is still the same despite their color.
If the coming DLC only introduces say 20 new items (all high quality) then it MAY increase your odds for non-repetitive Uni/Rare (still lowering your chances overall). However since we are talking about DAMP's RNG, they are more likely to dump 30 new trash items and 5 new uni/rares. In either situation, removing the armor from the equation benefits the player (unless BW has been reading tips and adjusted calcs
). You want a lower amount of marbles in the jar period to get a better chance at a black marble.
There's a Stats page on the Equipment document that breaks down all the eq by type and rarity if you want to see the full picture. Note that potions should not be included in your loot calculations.

Let me clarify this whole thing. Introducing more unique items will make it harder to get that one item that you really want. However it will increase your chances overall of finding a unique item. This isnt saying much because a lot of the uniques in the game are garbage. I want that one particule unique item, and so adding more junk items to the pool will just make it harder for me to find what I want.
Just thinking what the newly added items would be. Most likely something that's in the game already, which afaik should mean the new SP DLC items.
Did I see someone posting a new orange item a few days ago? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those.

Not necessarily. They could introduce more Rares and Commons too, to keep the mix the same.
