Chore Table times can be reduced by setting the computer or console forward one day and then setting it back.
Interesting, though we're speaking about the pointless amount of Power that could be used for things like this.

I know, and I replied to that already. I'm just posting that because there are some here writing that excess power should be used to reduce Chore Table mission times. That's like getting one free wish from a genie and then wishing you could think of something to wish for.
I also would use it to expedite the War Table Missions and how about using it to customize Skyhold more like more shops "Schematic Shop" or make more asthetic upgrades to make Skyhold look more Awesome.
Oh, I like this. Using the power of the Inquisition to find legendary artifacts for Skyhold via War Table missions? Yes, please!

I think that metaphor shows you're confused about the topic. The objective here really is to get rid of the wishes. We're thinking about a way to use excess power in-game, not trying to find a new way to make the game easier.
Well then in that case why not simply put a piece of electrical tape over the screen to block your view of the power courter? Or how about using power points to eliminate other power points? I think the topic is to find a GOOD use for power points. It isn't just to "not see" power points anymore.

You know, you get excess of Power points by the time you finish your game. How or where would you spend them? In a shop that gives you some stuff in return like rare materials, new schematics, etc? Could that be implemented in the Black Emporium DLC?
I like the idea of using your "power" to get rare materials or new schematics. You know, those you can actually ask for. No RNG stuff.
I'd do away with power entirely.
Let me go out and explore and/or continue the main story on my own terms, instead of having to wade through asinine side content to unlock an area and/or story mission.
Find a way to make power more valuable to the Inquisitor. As you gain power, you need to spend it in various places to help people aka stay the good guy. If you choose to keep your power instead, as it builds you can unlock new abilities. These abilities would be towards an evil focus as it progressively gets higher, and would require a certain amount of power to unlock. Example: 20 power = one ability, 50 = next tier ability and so on. When you also choose not to spend any power points, then it shows your corruption as Inquisitor and leads to consequences such as coups within your ranks or party members leaving. This feature would really add a lot of depth to the power system. Hope Bioware reads this for consideration.
I'd conquer Tevinter. I WANT THEIR FLYING COWS! Dorian said that they have flying cows in Tevinter, just imagine all CO2 emmisons I could drop on the Inquisition's enemies. XD
An opportunity to become Divine like the developers planned at one point, but chickened out.
What counts as a "good" use, though? Something that you can't do by any other means? If we start ruling out stuff that you can do with Cheat Engine, there isn't a lot left. Or is Cheat Engine too much cheating, while changing the date is just the right amount of cheating?
Things you can do through other means easily. Duping for gold and influence isn't an easy process, so I would say those would be good suggestions. Changing the date to get around the stupid chore table times is simple.
I would not include any cheat engine functions, as many people don't have the cheat engine. Myself for example.
How about a system wherein you can expend power points to affect war table missions. For example, you could expend power to speed up a mission (up to a certain amount) to represent assigning more agents and resources to completing that mission. Or assign power points to a resource gathering mission to increase the amount of resources you earn OR to increase the rarity of items earned
-D-
I like the first one, but I'd love if we could use all those power points to improve Skyhold and complete all the reparations.
P.S. About the Inquisition tiles, some time ago they twitted that they won't be spoiler-gated forever.
I also would use it to expedite the War Table Missions and how about using it to customize Skyhold more like more shops "Schematic Shop" or make more asthetic upgrades to make Skyhold look more Awesome.
This. Upgrade Skyhold and complete all reparations ![]()
I would also like to be able to use the extra influence points to get more inquisition perks ...
Trading Power for Schematics, Gold, XP, Influence, Masterwork Materials, and expediting War Table missions would all be nice.
I always agreed that excess Power should be used to continue to rebuild and repair Skyhold. Even after all the upgrades and finishing the game, there are still towers in disrepair, holes in the wall leading to the War Room, rooms that have collapsed walls and ceilings. How about spending Power at the War Table to hire builders and artisans to come to Skyhold and fix it up, then use Power to add more flair and decor to the place too.
I definitely think agree with the option to spend Power points at the War Table to receive shipments of crafting materials or schematics, instead of wasting a valuable Inquisition perk on these things. A small Power cost for common stuff, a medium Power cost for uncommon stuff, and a large Power cost for rare stuff.
We're talking 'only' a couple hundred extra Power if you avoid those stupid stupid ihatethem requisitions, so I'd like to be able to convert them, even a lot of them, to an Inquisition perk.
I'd like the presentation of the requisitions ("SIR! A MESSAGE FOR YOU!") to be more clean but still a thing, and if someone truly wants to grind FOREVER for mats to hand in for early-game power to buy Inquisition perks with, have at it, you mega gatherer you.
This is just for the main game though. For DLC, I'd like more ways to get Power as always (Jaws of Hakkon has this), but I'd also want DLC that is relatively much more focused on SPENDING that power.
Ideas like upgrading Skyhold's defenses (or at least being part of the 'recipe' for it) to a more significant degree (the basic degree can be covered by the existing upgrades) to be ready for an actual Skyhold assault are good.
Here's the thing about 'power'. It is a resource. Duh, I know. But just as we have a lot of ways to GET power, the spending of it can be made to be even more interesting. Politics is about 'spending power' all the time, being able to gather enough support to do one thing over another thing, or even just to do one very useful thing. We get this to a smaller degree in DAI core game (spreading the Inquisition forces to counter Cory is the focus really), but in post-game this can be ANYTHING. We're a powerful force to the extent of a nation, but I think we still count as just a small nation (especially if we don't extend much through side content). Lets make this bigger. Give us bigger effects on things, more interaction with the politics and makeup of southern Thedas beyond even what we've already done, etc.
But make it cost 10s or in some rare cases 100s of Power. Its OKAY. This is post-game, after all, not the guided main game.
Some parts of DAI are being improved already with JoH. Camps? Well, JoH has them bigger and more unique and interesting. Quest? Well they're more crafted than before (still not where they should be but closer). We know Bioware can learn.
So ideally, we won't 'just' get a Power Sink (though I still support that for Inquisition Perks! Still do it! lol), but instead more content that both easily adds 10s of Power if we complete it, but also has us spend 10s-100s of Power for unique story based results. The attack on Skyhold idea is a big one. Guiding the fate of nations in a visual form is another. We're played a part in the choosing of Divine, but to be honest, we could so much more than even that, in an interesting story arc that goes beyond the Chantry just 'dealing' with the Inquisition rising to face a blatant bad guy, but instead contending with an Inquisition that reaches further, perhaps too far. ![]()
I want Power to mean something. Something as more of a sink, yes. But also something that has a bigger effect on the world and story of DAI than its core story does. If Bioware does this 'right', we'll see DLC that gives us choices on how to spend Power (beyond just 'do it or not') and consequences based both on previous choices + the decision to spend Power on things in the world and on Skyhold (akin to Loyalty+Ship Upgrades+EMS in Mass Effect).
Bioware saw our lackluster response to the lackluster DAI ending. They could, if they choose to and are able to, blow us away with a much more epic and varied 'conclusion' to the DAI DLC cycle, and it could involve a much more interesting use of the Power mechanic.
For now, I'm not even into 2 zones, 6 dragons, 1-2 story quests (depends if you count Cory), and I have over 200-250 extra Power. Lame. This isn't a reward. Its a pile of nothing. A half measure would be something like Inquisition Perks alone, but I can dream, and I hope Bioware can dream too, and act on these dreams.
