Aren't all tech bursts the same as long as they're produced with the same rank primer and detonator?

sabotage rank 6b increases tech power damage by 50% for 10 seconds, and all tech combo explosions (Cryo, Tech Burst, Fire) get the same increase

Which is why the TSab is one of the best engineers, yet somehow regularly overlooked.

QFT.

OT: QME, closely followed by demolisher.

Some have modifiers like the Krolord's electric hammer, I think electric slash also, snap cheese as well.

Edit: Ah yes, sabotage as QMR stated as well.

It's a good stagger power, and does a bit of damage due to Backfire. It's also a great Tech Burst primer, when coupled with Homing Grenades it creates one of the strongest Tech Bursts in the game. Which is why the TSab is one of the best engineers, yet somehow regularly overlooked.

I think there are few reasons why TSab is overlooked. Simplest is probably that not many knows that sabotage primer for tech Bursts. May people just assume that TSa can't do tech explosions alone. Another reason might be that using sabotage is "lost points". Sabotage kills doesn't give you any points.

In any case, even have learned something new with this as I didn't know this sabotage/Homing Grenades combo.

Slash's one is broken though. Doesn't work.

Paladin/AIU and their SF rank 6b is still best there is. 100% dmg increase to tech combos.

Given that SF used as a detonator detonates on yourself, unless you're playing melee that means that evolution is effectively limited to cryo explosions.

Yep forgot that one was still broken.

Isn't one kit's snap freeze still broken as well where it gives more damage than it's supposed to?

Yeah Paladin's SF is just a bad mess. It basically gives the benefits of evo 6 at evo 4, if I recall correctly. Lol XD

A friend of mine took the same stance always go with radius except on Concussive Shot which has such a low CD that it can be spammed. Radius on non target capped powers (grenades) is generally not only better for killing but also increases survivability with powers like arc nades stunning more small arms units.

I guess I was being a little categorical. I take damage over radius on stuff like CS and Incinerate (because I also go for Burning Damage and I want to max the DoT), whereas with debuffs like Cryo Blast or Proxy Mine or ED I always pick radius. Most grenades are going to do more overall killing with radius because so many pieces simply miss. And things like Frags bounce like they're made of India rubber.

Except against Geth, then he loses what makes him special unfortunately. I did try him as a melee kit since his melee is boosted by Tech Vulnerability, but it wasn't for me.Maybe if he had stim packs intead of sentry turret that build would be more viable, but he doesn't so I don't do that anymore. You better have a good weapon on him or Geth games because quite annoying. No backfire, so no tech burst priming/detonating. You basically make a few guys stand still and get hit by grenades, which makes me sad. I wish sabotage had a choice between hack and backfire so you can always get the backfire even on synthetics.

Saboturian is still a good anti-geth character. 6+1 Disruptor ammo tech bursts with sabotage are still pretty powerful. Plus, you get the rank 5 gethsplosions along with them.

Pretty sure you still get Backfire sometimes on them, but even if you don't, you get Explosive Hack AoE damage, which knocks some enemies down and does moderate damage. IMO he shines vs Geth also, perhaps even moreso.

I think his 6+6 rapid fire AOE STRONG tech bursts is what makes him special, and pretty sure Geth minimize that. Explosive damage is nice, but since Geth screw up what makes him unique I think it's on of the worst factions for him. Not that he struggles mind you, but he becomes a different character to me.

Tried Talon Merc. The Cain mine just doesn't work. It doesn't detonate on impact, and even after arming, it still doesn't explode when a Phantom or Atlas walks by 1 meter away. I'm surprised I managed to get 80k points (on Gold). Think 50k came from the Phalanx pistol.

What triggers the mine? Proximity? I think Dragoons walked over it a couple times and it didn't detonate.

When it does detonate, the result is adequate. But I can't make it to.

You can detonate your own mines by spamming more.

Stick them to the walls so the trigger beam is horizontal?

Didn't notice the mines with horizontal beams triggering any more reliably. But makes sense that they would.

I posted this before. 4th mine detonates the 1st you laid down, 5th detonates 2nd, etc.

Walk up to an Atlas and just spam mines at his feet. You'll see.

To expand on this, you can have 3 mines active at once. Always stick them to walls so the enemy has to walk through it. When you have 3 active mines on the field, and you deploy another one, the 1st mine you laid will explode and deal damage and the same with the next mine you deploy. You can use this feature to force your mines to detonate simply by spamming more mines. Just spam 5 or 6 into a spawn and get killstreaks.

Did that, success rate is about 30%.

4th mine detonates the 1st you laid down, 5th detonates 2nd, etc.

That's an awfully wasteful method...
