I've played hundreds of hours of DAMP and I thought to sprint you had to hold down the left stick (which is hard to do).

Yesterday I leaned you just have to press left stick down briefly to toggle into sprint.

D'oh.

Did this useful nugget bypass anyone else?  :D

Yeah, it's shift on PC. Took me awhile to figure out that it was toggle too.

It's toggle on PS4 too...

If it's not working that way for you then something must be broken.

Did you know if you play multiplayer for long enough and go back to single player you get really good at finding flowers?

Well, almost. Couldn't figure out how everyone was going faster than me, so as a newbie I assumed everyone promoted tons and that made them faster. If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have known to press L3.

Ah thank you Sofa, my poor left thumb, begging to do some harmless tapping on a smooth glass screen instead of being forced to pressure my DAI MP crew to run dammit! Is grateful.

I figured this out on my second run or so on PS3. Either some other game has used the same or it was said on the loading screen cards. Just somehow it was natural to me.

How did I not notice this?  Will test it out for myself.  :)  It should be max speed by default anyway, but that's another thread...

I knew from the moment I first sprinted in DAMP that it was a toggle. It would be so incredibly stupid if the devs made it so that players had to hold a thumbstick (or shift key, for PC players) down in order to sprint (especially considering how small of an increase in movement speed sprinting gives you).

(Well I'm feeling incredibly stupid, it just had not occurred...  :D )

The last thumbstick-to-sprint game I played that required you to hold the button down was Battlefield: Bad Company in 2008.

You wouldn't think so but the best sprint set up I've played so far is left bumper in Dead Space. It's comfortable, you can move the camera while sprinting and you're not constantly worried you're going to snap your thumbstick in tense situations.

Yeah Evil Within is the same, I much prefer it to using the thumbstick

It genuinely confuses me why they bothered to make a walk/sprint toggle. Why the hell would we walk? Except the necromancer, of course, who has to turn around and walk away slowly while serial walking bomb detonations go off. Michael Bay demands it.
