It would be lovely to see the Architect again, I've been missing him something bad. I wonder if it would be possible to kill him? What if they made it mandatory to kill him? That would ****** me off so much. I keep feeling like they might do this, like how they got rid of Urthemiel's soul from Kieran. They just completely dropped a plot thread... I wonder how they would tie him into the plot, though. Like, what is he up to now? Running a human society-esque darkspawn colony underground?

I would also love to revisit the Deep Roads. I have no idea why so many people hate them. I've heard complaints that it's too quiet and too long. Well I think there's quite enough dialogue if you bring Oghren with you, in your active party. Having Shale when you speak with Caridin adds a little more to that quest, too. I loved the deep roads in DA2 even more, because of those rock wraiths. I NEED to see those guys again! I want to fight another one. If there's one thing da2 did right, it was the combat and combat difficulty. Also the children from DAA. They were a special kind of darkspawn produced only by the Mother, but I would love if they somehow found a way to reintroduce them to being just regular darkspawn. Those things were crazy. I also wonder if the Architect knows about events going on above ground? Does he know about the darkspawn magister Corypheus, has he wondered if he and Corypheus are the same? I would love to hear his take on the matter... well I've babbled on long enough, haha.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say, Happy Birthday Fireheart! Omg, I'm 20 years old! :D

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it to you as yet, but DAI /does/ hint at what the Architect and company are up to currently. It's a codex entry called "A Different Kind of Darkspawn".

I bet it could be just a MP DLC. New faction + some new maps can revive it a little bit. DS as an extra enemy faction seems like an obvious choice.

She was briefly considered as a choice to be possessed instead of Anders but the writers were not interested.

We need a Dwarven Romance

Male <===> Female

(Just to let the designers know which type)

That's what I was hoping. Even though I'm all good with just ONE new map and maybe 2-3 progress routes in it, a new faction couldn't hurt.

Shoehorning in past characters just because is BAD writing. My favorite companion isn't in every game in the series but I'm not having a temper tantrum about it.

Hahaha, and here I am feeling like they did that with Leliana, Anders (DA 2), Merrill (DA 2), Varric, Dagna, and Loghain.

How does the God of War fit in the same league as oghren?  I'll discontinue my part in derailing this thread since i had enough of these arguments.

I REALLY want to see the Architect again, and I doubt he's dead even if you killed him... I mean, look at him, and look at Corypheus. They both look more human then darkspawn, they both have those strange stone/bone things jutting out of their flesh but it seems to be forgotten or abandoned or put off till the future for The Architect and all the characters. We got to see Nathaniel in DA2, but that was it. DA Keep doesn't even have a section for Awakening companions, so there is no way to indicate whether or not they became wardens and if they survived the end of Awakening. I need more resolution for Awakening arcs before moving on.

What you will end up with is a miniature mook, just a slightly taller than the other two mooks who have a slight resemblance with darkspawn. And they keep respawning on you.

I find that I'm unable to agree with you at all on this one.

Perhaps you have an entirely different understanding of the concept of "shoehorning?" I felt as if only Varric out of those you've cited, truly qualifies as having been perhaps awkwardly shoehorned into Inquisition. In a sense, our friendly dwarf seems to have been included largely as  the hook to allow Hawke to appear, but if so that worked out okay, and I don't dislike the character.

Dagna is mostly an easter egg, albeit one with more of a presence than most. Leliana, Merrill and Loghain (among others) helped provide necessary continuity within the narrative framework of the entire franchise.

i think we will have a deep road / dwarven related story DLC for sure, because in the trailer '' discover the dragon age'' at 1:50

we see some of the place we will see in DA:I and we see a dwarven city ,with dwarf solder and  something that look like a huge golden gate and a lake under the mountain, plus in skyhold ,close to the kitchen,(next to the cellar where you put all your bottle you find) there a room empty ( we could put a table there and have a banquet , but nerver mind) there is 2 painting , one that seem to be an barbarian village , the other is some kind of a montain city where wolf seem to look at and then you got 2 dwarven statue...what are they doing ther ? so my hypothese is that 3 element annouce the future DLC we will have for DA:I

but if im wrong so where its is this dawrvencity / stronghold i didn't see at all

so what yu think and sorry for my english , im french-canadian so it a little hard sorry

Absolutely. When characters keep popping up at every important moment in history it becomes ridiculous. I understand that the writers have favorite characters but they need to learn restraint.

One of the questions asked during the recent Q&A on Kotaku was by a user named BlandPancakes who asked:

"How about some DLC on the Darkspawn and Deep Roads? The caves in Inquisitions were pretty cool but there wasn't enough of them!"

Aaryn Flynn's reply:

"Funny you should ask... :)"

The post is near the bottom.

Just as  long as Scout Harding is romance-able, "I'll but that for a 1$!"

Yes i was going to say that as well, its where Bianca takes you, but you can go there before you meet her. Its the left side of the first bridge in.

The multiplayer team isn't big enough to produce content like that all by themselves, I can imagine the darkspawn mp faction being released alongside a darkspawn sp dlc.

Like "what"? Darkspawn units are already in SP, and so are the Deep Roads\caves assets. They only need to assemble the levels and buff the DSC (whatever it is, most likely one of those big guys with an axe).

The Darkspawn aren't the most original concept... but they're a million times more interesting than DA's demons (except perhaps the Envy demon).

I think if Corypheus had the wardens allying with Darkspawn for the chance to receive a cure for the Calling - that would have been a far more interesting twist.

I think they chose the wrong "race" of baddies to focus on for three games (let's face it - so much of DA:O focuses on spirits/demons.  Three entire sections of the game:  Redcliff, the Circle Tower and the Dalish).

Well, what I think really makes the demons/spirits of DA interesting is that they aren't really "evil" they just reflect the minds of mortals or become twisted by their own surroundings.

The dark spawn don't interest me as much, unless we're talking about meeting anothe magister.

@Heimdall:  See, I see them more as idiot savants who steal one emotion and that's all they're really capable of comprehending.  Even the most powerful of them is a one note wonder to me.

Envy was perhaps the most nuanced.

I was REALLY interested in them during the Circle tower when I thought their entire goal was to make those abominations... but alas, that concept was left in the dust for "pac man ghosts invade Thedas".

I find their singleminded obsession interesting as part of the setting. "Idiot savants" is accurate, but their limitations and fumbling attempts to interact with the world are what interest me. That said, I'm not interested them as characters. Vengeance was a bore and Cole was interesting more for his insights into others than for himself.

@Heimdall:  Darkspawn I see as a manifestation of man's hubris.  The consuming, corrupting need to take and control and twist everything to our ends.

If I were to describe a race that:  "Recklessly abuses its environment, consumes organic matter to fuel their machines, wars incessantly and wants to spread to all corners it can reach."  You might think of any evil fantasy race - but of course, it's exactly what humans do.

In many ways - I consider the Darkspawn the "true face" of mortals on Thedas.

That I consider them a kind of 'living pollution' is - for some reason - something I find interesting.  *shrugs*

Hm, I tend to see them through more of a lovecraftian lens.

EDIT: I see them as a supernatural force of nature if that makes any sense. They're raw primal and destructive impulse, driven by a calling from beings beyond our understanding on a cellular level.

Which is why the Disciples, who have been uplifted from that state but still hear the call, and the Magisters, who appear to have become something closer to those beings than the Darkspawn themselves, interest me.

Oh, I seem to have fallen into a hornets nest of Oghren supporters! lmao!

Ya, he was pretty disgusting, especially in Awakening. As always, opinions are opinions, YMMV.

I seriously hope they don't have him make an appearance in DA:I DLC, that would cause rage in quite a few people the likes of not seen since ME3s ending.

Play Duke'nukem forever once...The come back and say what you said if you dare.

And Oghren is hilarious.
