Looks like we're getting a darkspawn dlc..

Like "what"? Darkspawn units are already in SP, and so are the Deep Roads\caves assets. They only need to assemble the levels and buff the DSC (whatever it is, most likely one of those big guys with an axe). 

 

Because there's only 3 darkspawn types in the DAI basegame which are all reskins of enemies in other factions:

 

Alpha Hurlock = Brute

Darkspawn Archer = Standard Archer

Darkspawn swordbro = Standard swordbro

 

If they're going to create a fun, challenging multiplayer faction there will likely be more than 3 enemy types as all of the other factions have about 8. Otherwise they may aswell have placed the Hakkon Avvar from the recent dlc in the multiplayer and called them a new faction and aside from the freezing mechanic some of the enemies have, a different Commander and missing a few enemy types they would be identical to the Venatori.

 

It's way too much effort for a small team to create a whole new faction with new abilities, new models which is why I think that if Bioware are making a darkspawn dlc it will be for single player.

 

Talking about a darkspawn faction, if they were to have 8 enemy types I would do:

 

Hurlock swordbro as a standard grunt

Hurlock Archer as a standard ranged but I would give them crossbows

Shrieks as the resident rogues

Hurlock emmissaries as the mage

Standard Genlocks as another grunt type but functioning like how they did in DA2

Genlock Alphas with big shields like the ones currently in DAI but functioning slightly differently

Ogres as the big armor generating enemies

??? as the Commander
