I found another one on the side of a mountain. Also on this one if i get off my horse on it. it ports me to a floating island
Do you have a map reference?
(a screenshot of the map location?)

It's just a glitch. First time I went down and past the floating rocks beneath the map and popped back up close to the greener section of rock. Second time I made it onto the floating rocks for a split second before falling to my death.
Here we are ![]()
ok. let's see if I can find the island ![]()

Nope, jumped on it around it - stable for me.
I took a photo who can post it.
Just a glitch.
I took a pic of the 2nd green mark
They are way brighter on my screen for some reason
Sorry I'm off exploring now.
Just found Redcliffe Castle, seen through the mist.
Viewed from the other side of the lake...

So pretty.
Looks like this is as far as I can travel North...

Actually no, you can work your way around the back of the demon possessed wolves cave...
So, much closer now...

Will probably drown in the attempt ![]()
Nope! Made it...
To Redcliffe Castle ![]()
(not showing that because the textures were never meant to be shown standing next to them)
So I've worked my way back to Redcliffe harbour, but viewed from the bay...

I do a lot of out-of-bounds traveling in DAI. Will a little persistence, you can go all the way around the outside of all the maps and find a lot of cool areas to run around in. Water is only lethal in those areas close to where you can access it normally. Access it from an out-of-bounds region and you can do a lot of cool "underwater" exploring. Just don't try to get close to a shore near an "in-bounds" area.

This is clearly only for the hardcore explorer, but this is totally fascinating.
Admiration for being able to peep behind the devs' curtain increased...
I always wanted to get to the other side of that broken bridge in Redcliffe Village ![]()

And a dev has planted an Elfroot, on the side of the river where it can 'never' be picked?
I'm having that ![]()

I wonder if that elfroot is there as a way of saying, hey we know you aren't supposed to get over here but we're totally cool with it, way to go.
I'm just enjoying this tapestry inside a fort (other side of the broken bridge) you can't reach, where it will never be seen ![]()
Mind blown...

And all achieved on Xbox One, so no cheats involved... ![]()
None of that stuff is randomly generated, someone had to actually put it there and design it, so it sounds like they knew someone would eventually get over there and wanted to make some kind of subtle reward for it.
So is it an area that was scaled down, or was the detail put in for details sake?
Interesting.

I imagine these areas were constantly re-worked during development and remnants of earlier work remains. Perhaps at one point they toyed with the idea of having areas like that active, but got paired back for whatever reason. I've found huge valleys and interesting topography out-of-bounds in some regions making me think they were at one point supposed to be explorable...
I will have to try that when I'm back in the Hinterlands
I can't be assed to try this myself, hahaha. Dig what I'm seeing though.
Now I've been having fun with this, does anyone know if any of the other zones are open to a little wider exploration?

With a little persistence, you can break through out-of-bounds in any of the regions and explore.
\
I've explored OOB in all of the regions except the Fallow Mire and the DLC.

Hmmm, for another time then ![]()
Thanks !
