Like the topic says, how do I get the silver M for the first game? I've owned it since the very first time it came out on PC (and had it on Xbox 360 before that)... Is it only the trilogy that gets registered to your profile?
Silly question, but how do you get the M logo on your profile?

I had this same question floating around in my head, especially since I have an original copy of ME and the game as part of the trilogy pack. It annoys me every time I see that the M is not part of my credentials. Stupid, I know, but it bugs me...

Ah ha! Re-adding it to my Origin account and then re-logging did the trick!
Here is a direct link to the post that outright says how to do it... and this is what worked, as you can see to the left ![]()

You cannot do it if you own the Xbox version.

Yeah, cause there is no "online" with the Xbox 360 version as is not an EA game originally, they can't make the necessary changes to allow it to upload to EA's servers. The only reason it was released on the PC was because Microsoft decided to go ahead and let them (they did that for a few other "Xbox Exclusive" titles.. like the Riddick games), but it was still not allowed on the PS3. But finally Microsoft gave all rights to EA so they could do the PS3 version. (I don't know full details of this, I just know that when EA first released Mass Effect on the PC they said that it would NOT be made for the PS3, as they could not legally do so... but obviously sometime they came to some agreement with Microsoft, but that still won't let them patch the 360 version cause that's way more patching than you can do on a console.)

I believe that the MS exclusivity clause lapsed, allowing EA/BioWare to release the game on non-MS platforms. Not 100% sure but this is my understanding.

Baloney! I call hogwash!
I don't have an Em, PCs have an Em, Wii's have an Em, even Playstation players have an Em, but still I don't have an Em... ![]()

There isn't one, that's what we are saying. There is NO way to connect your Origin account and the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect because the game was made Pre-Origin so it's literally impossible (mostly cause it's beyond what Microsoft allows patches to do) to make work, even if they wanted to pay a team to write such a patch, Microsoft wouldn't let them. That will always be the biggest pro for PC games over console games... programmers can do anything they want without having to worry about Microsoft/Nintendo/Sony oversight on 'ooh you can't do that..."

Baloney, the product code is in the game box - the same bloody game box that says "only on Xbox 360"

Now here is the real issue, you can't connect the Xbox 360 version (again the only one there ever was in 2007) into EA:Origins.

Even AbsolutGrndZer0 has it on PC.

Uh, never knew a console game to have a product code unless it was a code for promotional DLC

Uh like the UPC code? Cause when you say product code I am thinking like a DRM registration code and consoles don't have that so X out a few numbers but can you give me an example?

In PC land, to get the letter M the game has to appear as registered in your forums profile: apparently only Origin digital games will appear in your profile (check under 'games' in your profile). And you have start it up at least once.
You can redeem the serial number of a physical copy in Origin by introducing it in "Origin->Redeem product code" and it will grant you a digital copy. It should work with a steam serial number too...
You can view the number in the ME configurator - under Program Files\Origin Games (or Electronic Arts) \binaries)..
You may end up with two ME1 games in the origins library if you have an older installation from a physical copy or an early EA digital download (look under program files\Electronic Arts) and another installation under Origin (under Program Files\Origin Games, the current method). Only an Origins Games installation will cause the game to appear in your forum profile.
Also note the Origins install should give you both of the ME1 DLC (although some people have had problems). The free EA download for the DLC BDtS is meant only for a game installed in its original EA directory; the Pinnacle Station DLC appears not to be available for the older installation.

All my games have the UPC code.
I know, this is a GM trick, there is no way to do this otherwise
Okay, but yeah that doesn't always work for all, in fact not for most as it's not unique so if it actually works I could just go to the store write down the UPC code and then get a free game.... Seriously, if that works the company is seriously dumb. That's also who they did the "Online Pass" thing for many console games.
