And here it is.
To use it, open an MS-Dos windows (I think the installer creates commands to open the terminal in the right directory), and although there are many options I finally only type:
nvdxt -file "<path of your files to convert>\<name or *>.tga" -outdir "path to put the dds files after conversion" -dxt5 -nmips 9
Tip to avoid typing "<path of your files to convert>": open the correct folder in the Windows Explorer, and copy the path (right click in the address bar). In the terminal, just right-click after file " and paste the path, then add "\*.tga"
I also posted the link on the vault, with some explanations on why it was necessary. If there are mistakes or more is needed, please feel free to correct me!
Thanks. I figure its time to put the proper LOD meshes and proper DDS mimaps on my works since they arent basic and for personal use anymore.
I use DDS Converter 2 for all my DDS conversion needs.
I work with TGA images while I'm editing them, and convert to DDS once I'm happy with them.
And doesn't give you the option of mipmap count...
Yes it does:

Yes but question 2?
I have an nVidia graphics card, so I don't know whether the converter has built-in nVidia capabilities, or whether it's using those already available on my machine.
I just found, it seems that the tool "DXTbmp" is able to create Mip maps, too. (Though I have not tested this feature, yet.)
Just click the "magnifying glass" at the bottom.
The tool can be found here:
