Hey, Bioware, please just stop with the new full-start-screen promos.

I've been playing offline to maintain mods, so I can't check for myself, but - is this replacing the ENTIRE START screen (bar menu buttons)? If so, what happens if you click new game, does it just skip the explosion? :c

We say we don't appreciate the hole cut for the MP ads and their response is "well up yours and appreciate THIIIIS" *makes hole BIGGER*

Does anyone have a screenshot?

Yes, it replaces the entire start screen. For the DLC ad it shows one of the new helmets and for the MP weekend event it shows a red templar behemot.

You do still get the explosion, the start screen cuts straight into the explosion. While you are in the menu, however, you won't see the mages and templars marching.

I just don't understand as to why we who already purchased this get the promotion. Why not apply a checksum at the start of the game? Or have it be clickable to close itself. I feel The Sims 4 got this right by having an easy overview over new and upcoming content in a package menu. I think it came with the latest update. I like it.

It's a real nice break from having endless hordes of mages and Templars marching on, and on, and on, and on.... that I've had to endure every time I open the damn game.

I'm actually a much bigger fan of the nice static artwork then then mages and templars walking

This is why I'm always on the fence about making Water Boy references.

Get off the fence on the 'don't do it' side. It will make life a lot easier.

Inquisition has one of the most beautiful title screens I've ever seen. These full-screen promos you have started using really get my Inquisition game sessions off to a bad start, because instead of looking forward to what I'm about to play, I'm pissed off at the ugly full screen BS I just had to witness.

If you're going to make full-screen promos, make them as gorgeous as the original one, 3D and animated. Otherwise, please stop ruining my mood every time I start the game.

I realize I can avoid the full-screen promos by not automatically logging in to Origin when I start the game, but I shouldn't have to forfeit that convenience. If making beautiful full screen promos is too much work, another preference would be suitable. Even something that I have to manually edit in ProfileOptions_profile would suffice. Of course that would still leave my console brethren suffering through these ugly, distracting full-screen promos every time they start the game.

Think about it, Bioware.

There are no full screen promos at the start of the game for console gamers. They come when you exit the game.

I've had them at the start of my game on Xbone.

Just so that everyone's happy...

There are now no splash screens for either Multiplayer or Jaws of Hakkon on Xbox One.

I wouldn't care if the screen had neon green text over a plaid background. It's a menu screen. It functions as a menu screen.

Yes i hate it too, its very poor, like every mage and templar are exactly the same guy till eternity, feels like the same reused assets as DA2 haha, but even then i hate ads more...

Well, to be fair, this is only really a problem if you sit and stare at the title screen for a long time after the menu finally loads.

It doesn't bother me I was just saying that it is on my Xbone. After all the ads keep me informed on upcoming events and content.  Not that I need it coming here all the time but it's there to inform me.

I will say it once more - the godsent piece of devine video game crafting DAO had moving text ads promoting all DLC even though you had already bought it. I know damning intrusive marketing to hell must be as intriguing as beating up a toddler at this point, but the text that actually says "buy me" is even smaller in comparison than in both DAO and DA2.

So if you liked the Templars & Mages marching better, that's fine, but calling it a full screen ad is just bucking for critique. Apologetic's commentary or no, but my actual intention is to not have it removed because I really like having new art every once in a while when booting up the game.

Personally, I think promos should go under the Extras menu, with a little glowy indicator or something to encourage people to select Extras.

I seriously doubt we had anything to do with it. A more logical explanation is that the weekend even ended, so the promo for the weekend event is gone. We'll find on on Friday whether we made any impact.

Hahaha! I feel so silly. I didn't know what was going on with that. I got the dlc downloaded and fired up the game. I wanted to do some main game stuff first, etc. Then I see this giant ad telling me to buy the dlc. I was a little alarmed. I thought that my purchase was not registering with the game. A glitch, or something.

Then I thought well maybe it was taking me directly to the dlc to play. So, I backed out a couple times and tried to restart, and there it was again.

So, I waited...still concerned about my purchase. I get to the main game and can't find anything regarding my dlc. I was still too low level, but I didn't know that. I was getting ready to riot, then on fluke I tried a different PC, higher level, and bam! there it was.

Lol! Confusing for new players? It was confusing for me.

Whoa. That really is obnoxious.

When I head it replaced the title, I was expected the new ad to also be animated, as though it were a new title screen - a view of the new zone perhaps, with occasional birds or something - or at least, a full shot with plenty going on.

But noooope, blatant boring still, letterboxed, buy now, the whole shebang. *sigh*

Thanks for taking the time to capture it.

I don't want the ads at all, if i want the DLC i'll buy it, if i want to play multiplayer i will play it, i really don't need ads telling me, because that would make me do the opposite...

Hahaha! Yeah, I'm like that, too: The more a company pesters me with their ads, the less likely I'll buy their products. I have exactly zero interest in the MP DLC; so I don't play it -- free or not. I was very happy though to see the new story DLC (it was mentioned on my favorite gaming site), so I bought it right away. Luckily I play the game always logged out, and without Origin interlay, since that fixed my problem with CTDs. :D

So, while I don't really see these fullscreen ads very often (only when I start a new game, to load my custom world setting), I would prefer to not have them anyways.

I just loaded up a new game and was honestly shocked at how much the change of the main menu screen to an ad for the DLC detracted at the start. 1) that menu screen was beautifully done! 2) it's literally the opening cinematic and is plot relevant 3) jumping to that screen's explosion without watching the marching beforehand made the explosion scene WAY too fast to know what's supposed to be happening

As others have stated, it's not the worst thing ever, but it was jarringly bad and made me want to go out of my way to NOT buy anything. Putting it in a loading screen between zones or something would be less annoying I would think. Could just be me though.
