I am being pain in my butt... my goal is to unlock Insanity medal on Achievements after beating Mass Effect 2 again because the medal is gold. The gold medal is more lovely and beautiful and more rewarding. But I can't finish Dossier: The Professor mission because of flamethrower vorcha and krogan warrior. I try to shoot vorcha's flame tank, but they are moving around and hide. I feel like I am almost hopeless to achieve Insanity medal. So what is the easiest strategy to finish turning both fans in environment center and attack all enemies? My class is Vanguard and I am on Level 3. Here's my skills I can show you on my squad menu in the game:

Incendiary Ammo 1

Cryo Ammo (don't have it)

Charge 2

Shockwave (don't have it)

Pull (don't have it but it locked)

Assault Mastery (not yet selected but will select this skills after beating Dossier: The Professor.

Slam 2

I got bonus experience (25%) because I beat Mass Effect 2 first time on Casual mode. But I want Insanity mode because I need insanity gold medal. Anyway, can you help me this, please...? Thanks. :)

First, don't focus on shooting the tanks on the flamers.

Second, you'll probably want to maintain your distance from the flamers, so a pistol would be better than your shotgun or SMG. Pistols have a multiplier against armor.

Concentrate on getting their armor off, then use Jacob's Pull followed by Miranda's Warp to get an explosion. This will allow you to take out large groups of enemies at once.

Also, Miranda's Overload will explode a flamer that does not have armor.

Vanguard may be the hardest class to use effectively on insanity. I found both Engineer and Adept to be easier.

I don't know if this will be any help, but here is an Adept doing that section (insanity):

Here is an Engineer (insanity):

Is there any chance you could import from ME1? That would start you out at a higher level. Indeed, if you were to import your ME2 character you used your first time through you would start out at the same level you left off (though you guns and powers would not have the upgrades you did).

Also, rank 2 of Slam seems like two points that could have gone elsewhere. Rank 1 should be enough most of the time.

Not sure if this will help or not: Mass Effect 2: Vanguard Charging 101 (Insanity Guide) by thataveragegastby. This video is a good resource for first-time Vanguards on Insanity.

If you have Miranda with you (you probably should at this point in the game), then you can take out the Vorcha's armor with your pistol, then have Miranda hit it with her Overload. Overload will detonate Vorcha pyros.

For Krogan, if you do not like getting in close or you find it hard, take out its armor from a distance with your Pistol, then use Slam, and have Miranda hit it with Warp (if she has it) while it is still in the air. Try to have Miranda behind you so she can Warp-bomb it in the air without doing her casting animation (squadmates outside your line of sight -- typically behind you -- will not perform a casting animation when they use a power).

If you are new to warp bombs, you may find it easier (at first) to bring Jacob and Miranda. First strip armor with a pistol (as RedCaeser suggests), then pull with Jacob, and then Warp from Miranda. The timing with pull is a bit more forgiving, and the line of sight issue less critical. Another benefit of Jacob is that you can spec him for squad incendiary, allowing you to skip ammo powers until later in the game (in favor of passive and charge).

Thanks for the advice, I found the most helpful advice is becoming Engineer because of Combat Drone and Incinerate power from Cap and Gown's advice. thank you for your help, everybody. I feel so relieved that I am able to tackle Insanity. :)

Wow, Vanguard Charging 101 guide is most useful. I would love to teleport across the enemy after ordering Miranda to use Warp-bomb on enemy and punch it and use shotgun to shoot enemy and then they knocked back. That AWESOME! And it finally worked. Thank you so much, RedCaesar97.
