Soes, I love C.Q.C. with Banshees. There are a couple tricks I like to use against them. Tricks I very rarely see pugs using.
I'll name a few, curious what other tricks BSNers know.
- Ramps of course, first and foremost. Staying on a different level. I'll assume pretty much everyone here knows about it and how to do it.
- Forward Dodge. This one is fun, requires a bit of timing but it's only tricky if the lag is horrendous. While she is jumping towards you, you wait until she's one jump from you (or run up to the point you need to be at.) Then when she jumps at you, you dodge forward. What kit/race you have will have to be taken into account as well. This will stop her on a dime, and doesn't require any ramps. After that be sure to move immediately after your dodge as she'll slowly 180° and go into her high damaging swipe most of the time.
- Banshee Warp Balls. Paladin Light Melee will completely negate it and the DoT. Volus Heavy Melee also seems to completely negate it and the DoT but I'm not 100% on that. I haven't tested it but I'm curious if the iFrames from Over-cover Grabs and Cabal's specced Biotic Focus 6a does the same?
- Puggernauts. (this works with Krolords too but the ending is a bit different.) I will often lead banshees to these. Works terribly well with a volus or an infiltrator. I only feel a little bad because I'll shortly start murdilating it. I feel a bit worse if it's the Krolord but there's a part of me that doesn't get bored seeing those little Krofeet kicking in the air.
...Yeah I'ma bad man.
- Don't group up. See this all the time. Banshee gets read to throw her Warp Ball. I'm in perfect wonderful happy safe soft cover, that warp ball hits the guy standing next to me. I am thusly warped. I am thusly irked at aforementioned guy.
- Playing Her Range. She starts to jump when she gets a certain range away from you, she swipes at a closer range. She warps or AoE's between them. Playing with that can really mess her up. She'll constantly swipe at you if you keep at a close range, and she'll miss all the time if you're constantly spinning around her. It takes a lot of trial'n'error and experience. Aaaand some patience when you get it wrong, but damn it's fun. You can juke her into hopping again only to stop her by dodging through her if you need to reposition her somewhere safer/in cover/near RHA.
Anyways, dunno if anyone will benefit but who knows. I find it one of the most enjoyable parts of C.Q.C. which in turn is one of my favourite aspects of this game.
Cheers
