Soes, I love C.Q.C. with Banshees. There are a couple tricks I like to use against them. Tricks I very rarely see pugs using.

I'll name a few, curious what other tricks BSNers know.

 - Ramps of course, first and foremost. Staying on a different level. I'll assume pretty much everyone here knows about it and how to do it.

 - Forward Dodge. This one is fun, requires a bit of timing but it's only tricky if the lag is horrendous. While she is jumping towards you, you wait until she's one jump from you (or run up to the point you need to be at.) Then when she jumps at you, you dodge forward. What kit/race you have will have to be taken into account as well. This will stop her on a dime, and doesn't require any ramps. After that be sure to move immediately after your dodge as she'll slowly 180° and go into her high damaging swipe most of the time.

 - Banshee Warp Balls. Paladin Light Melee will completely negate it and the DoT. Volus Heavy Melee also seems to completely negate it and the DoT but I'm not 100% on that. I haven't tested it but I'm curious if the iFrames from Over-cover Grabs and Cabal's specced Biotic Focus 6a does the same?

 - Puggernauts. (this works with Krolords too but the ending is a bit different.) I will often lead banshees to these. Works terribly well with a volus or an infiltrator. I only feel a little bad because I'll shortly start murdilating it. I feel a bit worse if it's the Krolord but there's a part of me that doesn't get bored seeing those little Krofeet kicking in the air.

...Yeah I'ma bad man.

 - Don't group up. See this all the time. Banshee gets read to throw her Warp Ball. I'm in perfect wonderful happy safe soft cover, that warp ball hits the guy standing next to me. I am thusly warped. I am thusly irked at aforementioned guy.

 - Playing Her Range. She starts to jump when she gets a certain range away from you, she swipes at a closer range. She warps or AoE's between them. Playing with that can really mess her up. She'll constantly swipe at you if you keep at a close range, and she'll miss all the time if you're constantly spinning around her. It takes a lot of trial'n'error and experience. Aaaand some patience when you get it wrong, but damn it's fun. You can juke her into hopping again only to stop her by dodging through her if you need to reposition her somewhere safer/in cover/near RHA.

Anyways, dunno if anyone will benefit but who knows. I find it one of the most enjoyable parts of C.Q.C. which in turn is one of my favourite aspects of this game.

Cheers

Sounds like a perfect guide for Furies that want banshees to die.... getting that close with a throw every second means a boom every second, PLUS up until the barriers go, a full shield regen each second

Most Warlords don't seem to need to be led to Banshees, and Banshees tend to lead themselves to Puggernauts

lol, I only recently saw that reference for the first time. >.<

There are a couple jugs on PC that seem to play around the same time I do; they're an absolute blast to play with as a kit that can self-detonate. High damaging and know how to hold a choke point.

Play with me & you'll be seeing a lot of Banshee CQC. I LOVE killing them with an uppercut to the jaw as they're leaning towards me screaming their head off.

You'll also see a lot of Phantom CQC. There is nothing more satisfying than finishing off a Phantom with a well timed uppercut that sends her flying over a railing & off the map.

AIU FTW!

Invincibility Frame, certain mechanics in the game make you completely immune to damage for a half a second.

Great thread!

Any tips to help beat on those bitches is welcome!  When PUGging gold, you never know when you will find yourself in Reaper territory with the wrong character.

Banshees seem to be drawn to my Krolord (and all other Krogans), as well as Batarians.  They follow me around the map. As long as I keep ahead of them, no prob.  When they materialize out of a wall and immediately begin the sequence: Oh, ****....

Kroguards and Batguards do not do well against Banshees.  I stay back until the shields are down, and won't try to charge unless I think they will go down.  Nothing like charging directly into the sync-kill sequence.  Oh ****...

Characters without a dodge are at an obvious disadvantage against Banshees.  The TGI can dodge well; the Turian Sentinel or Soldier are at a comparative disadvantage.

It's great when there is a Jugg on the team; it takes a lot of pressure off of the other targets (me), and I can dance around the Jugg and we can both take her down.  When other teammates help, they go down fast with a Jugg in the middle.

My favorite character against Banshees: Salarian Infiltrator with BW.  Love it when the head explosion animation comes around!

Also, characters have different size hitboxes. Krogans are huge, and are banshee catnip. My Krosol got gut stabbed a lot until I learned that truth. I expect Warlord and Jugg are even bigger, not that the Jugg cares much. I don't think my Drell ever got banshee stabbed; I'm thinking maybe trying to run through her legs.

Cqc is my favourite way of dealing with most enemies and I love to dance around banshees with an agile character like the asari. The problem is lag kinda screws you over here.

Consider the banshee warp ball, normally on host it's a piece of cake to dodge it but off host though a lot of times the ball disappears halfway through and you get hit even after you dodge.

The solution I've found is to dodge to one side first and then dodge to the other right after and it works for me all the time.

Oh and yes being in grab animation negates warp damage from my experience as I've been saved by it a couple of times!
