(If that scrub who shot that black kid in Ferguson wasn't a short, weak manlet it wouldn't have ever resulted in a killing. Men like that DO NOT need to be cops. You should be physically imposing and in great shape and STRONG to be a cop)

Lol what? Darren Wilson is 6'4. You think thats short? No idea how strong he is but if you consider 6'4 short then wtf do you think the height requirement for an officer should be?

All that is unnecessary anyway. Just make state police physical requirements and training more like their federal counterparts. Problem solved.

No, it's really not. Average Joe the Cop wouldn't have access to heavy weapons and armor like a SWAT unit. It appears as though regular cops are getting better equipment, because regular cops are being called in less and less for smaller crimes. If someone has a dime bag of weed in their house and the local PD catches wind of it, they can just send in their SWAT team and deal with it that way instead of sending an officer in a car. It doesn't help that, ever since SWAT was introduced in the 60's, it's been growing immensely, much faster than regular neighborhood cops. There are about as many SWAT units as there are regular police. People see the word "police" on SWAT uniforms and think they're your normal cops, and they aren't. If you see an MRAP near your house, it's either SWAT or the FBI.

I'm honestly surprised people haven't tried to play the "cops are all racist pigs who kill people for fun" card yet.

Trust me, it is. I don't know what it's like in your state or jurisdiction, but the police in my local area are not authorized for SWAT, and they still arm themselves as well as a paramilitary unit. Average Joe the Cop, quite honestly, is the guy who has access to the MRAP and the M4's. In my state, standard police helicopters carry no less than 2 sharpshooters during a flight. There's talk to allow them to shoot individuals in the air, and not just for dangerous situations like hostages. I'm talking a fugitive who is being chased in the streets on foot. There's a lot more shoot first and ask questions later these days. I can see where it might, just might, be necessary in places where violence against police is more common, but it's happening in suburbia and hicktowns.

The American public is too well armed. When I say 'illegal weapons' is an oxymoron in some states, I mean it.

Foreigners, I know of a place less than 4 miles from my home where a guy can easily access an automatic heavy weapon, and fire it (unsupervised) on a range that is within the vicinity of no less than 2 schools.

The second amendment is so outdated. I'm in the military. I've seen combat, and I know what tech and ass I haul into combat.

We, the people of the United States, do not need that kind of firepower. The government is not going to come and tyrannize you. If anything, it's the tyranny of the people that is to be feared.

And I won't lie, I'm a hypocrite. I own an Springfield M1A (civilian variant of the M14 that fires the NATO 7.62 x 51 mm FMJ that is capable of ripping a person in half if you fire more than 3 rounds into them. Said difference between the military and civilian variant is that the fire selector switch has been removed), a Daniel-Defense AR-15 (a clone of the M4), a Walther P99, a Smith & Wesson M&P9, and a fully automatic Kalashnikov clone.

**** That noise, I trust the government as far as could throw a M1A1 Abrams Tank.

Not really. Every Street Officer in my town as an M4/AR15 weapon and 12 gauge shotgun in their car, center console. Many have level 3 body armor in their trunk. It's not just the dynamic entry teams that have militarized AR's and body armor. It's the "regular" cops too. But hey, like I said, AR civilian ownership and the gun porn culture of US civilians is out of control. So... Cops have to respond and protect themselves too. We as a civilized society recognize that police officers have an inherently dangerous job and must protect themselves.

So... when you have over 20 million AR's in civilian hands in America..... Yeah, duh. You're gonna have cops having militarized gear. They have too.

Even if you don't trust the government, and in some wild and random crazy turn you have to fight them. Your **** guns or no.

You cant fight Armored vehicles, drones, planes, and units of trained infantry with your gun. Heck, I doubt it would even come to a fight if the government turns on you they will just disable your electricity and then its game over.

So yeah, gun ownership can no longer save you from an oppressive government.

yeah, but he was lanky and really, really lite. Like 6"4" 200 pounds or whatever. And obviously not very strong in the upper body and he was really, really poorly trained and the whole way he responded to a possible 211 suspect was.... Wow, terribad. I guess he never really trained in what do with a felony stop..... His idea was.... "Yeah, I'm just gonna pull over and holla back at em', then get my assed kick. Then shoot the kid" Type of thing.

Nope, it's happening all over. And it's starting to spread to white people too. Militarization of the police.

*snip*

I can tell you the truth about both. I've been to both. There's more of a 'military' presence in Boston now than Kabul.

Fair enough lol. Just goes to show height doesnt mean much. Like I said before, train them more like federal agents and problem solved.

Exactly. Look at the requirements to even be considered to be in the DEA...... Holy fvck! That's crazy. You have to be under 32. Have a 4 year degree and. AND like 3 years of investigative police experience......Fvck! That's some accomplished candidates. I think there's like a GPA requirement also and like 3 or 4 letter of recommendation. Too be considered.... That's very high standards.

Yup. Thats what I want to do, and yeah its very competitive and hard to get into.

The GPA requirement is 2.9 luckily im young and have plenty of time to work on my resume. I hope to get in by the time im 24, I will meet the schooling and investigative requirements by then.

The taliban have a different lifestyle then Americans. They live in a far away land, and are willing to die in droves. Every advantage they have is absent in the American public. How many people do you know are going to be able to live without modern amenities? And its completely different because of the distance. Fighting here would be so much cheaper and easier. And also the Taliban were pretty much beaten in afghanistan.

No ****, I don't think anyone believes they could. Besides, that's not really my point. We commonly see unarmed civilians get brutalized by local PD and Sheriff Officers and I'm not talking about Furgeson. I'm talking about Police officers beating a homeless woman or Police shooting a unarmed deaf civilian. It goes on and on, in the last several years 5000 American citizens have been shot and killed in questionable Police shootings is anything ever done about it? **** no! So, my previous comment stands because I don't trust the government or PD to do the right thing. Why subdue the homeless man when your buddy with a Shotgun loaded with bean bags rounds can incapacitate him allowing his buddy with a M4 to empty the entire clip into him why he's on the ground crying. Spoilers, nothing happened to the cops either.

Just to be considered..... I mean, if you went to go apply to any local police agency with a 4 year degree, say a 3.5 gpa, 3 letters of recommendation and 3 years police investigatory experience, you would be hired right on the spot probably. I doubt they would even bother with a board.

Okay, I get what you're saying. But... Is it really 5000 people killed by cops in questionable ways??? I'd like to see the source.

Also, if you look at the Uniformed Crime Report, violent crime against civilians and police officers has PLUMMETED the last nearly 20 years. Cops are getting shot less and less and civilians are getting shot less and less. Also, violent crime overall is way down. That's the UCR. So you don't get much more official than that.

We live in a society in which our liberal, SJW media likes to sensationalize any crime in which there is a gun involved....... I mean...... Every year drunk drivers kill over 50000 people in the US. Well over twice the amount of death by firearm in the US (The bulk of which are suicide BTW) and yet...... We never hear about the epidemic of drunk drivers killing everybody on CNN, or MSNBC or mainstream media...... .Gee, I wonder why.......

The...... Eric Holder version of the DOJ...... yeah, naw no thanks.

Now. Here is the UCR violent crime report as of June 2014.

http://www.fbi.gov/a...nuary-june-2014

4.6 decrease compared to june 2013, the previous year.

And if you compare 2013 to say 1993. Nearly a 35 percent decrease of violent crime.

We are a less violent society.

Also, look at the UCR LEO killed in line of duty reports-

In 2013 27 officers were killed in line of duty violently with intent (non accidental)

In 2012 48 officers were killed in line of duty violently with intent.

http://www.fbi.gov/a...opic_page_-2013

http://www.fbi.gov/a...opic_page_-2012

So, overall violence against civilians and police has and continue to go down in America.

Contrary to what many Liberal Strawmen and liberal bias media would like to portray.

**** Eric Holder, it doesn't take a genius to see there's something wrong when a PO can headshot a cuffed prisoner(on his back ) because the suspect kicked him.
