Leliana, Isabela, Morrigan, The Warden, Hawk, Varric, Bethany, Cassandra, Sera, Vivenne, The Female Elf companion in DA2, Iron Bull are my personal favorites of all but Isabela was put out completely and I would have loved to have Leliana as a romance option for my inquisitor especially sense my Warden chose Morrigan all the way everytime. It would just be nice to have some familiar faces join your playable crew. Only reason I play these types of games after all is because of their characters, music, and story, gameplay and features are irrelevant to me. ME1 and ME2 did all these things quite well, ME3......meh, it was aight.

 

What do u guys think? do you care? is your crew that important? Who would u guys like them to bring back into the fold as a "playable" companion and or romance?

Or you could, you know, play their respective games and romance them there rather than shoehorn them into every single game with a completely different protagonist/setting.

Well, they've said a few times (including once a few days ago) that if someone was a romance option in a previous game they will not be in a future game. 

 

As for recruitment, I feel Varric's story is done. Even having him in Inquisition was pushing it, but it worked well considering Hawke's importance.

I would certainly like to see them again, like running into Dorian on the streets of Minrathous. But, since this isn't a continuous game like Mass Effect with a more future instalments looking to explore more of the other parts of Thedas I would very much like to see new faces

Dragon Age is not Mass Effect. Every game has a new protagonist and setting with new faces to go along. Bringing back every companion again and again would feel forced and bringing romances back across multiple protagonists would understandably ruffle feathers.

I'd bet on Scout Harding being a companion and LI in DA4. 

 

With the amount of people gushing over her I wouldn't be surprised if she is DA4's Cullen.

The part that will be the funniest is that it would most likely happen with a new PC, which would irritate fans that you could flirt ad nauseam to Harding with the Inquisitor yet it never goes anywhere, and people will be sour about it.

I'm all for returning companions/characters, but as long as it's done right.

I'd have far prefered if mentions in DA:I, such as Sebastian offering support, had been cinematics rather than wartable messages.

Assuming DA:4 will be in Tevinter, I think Dorian makes sense for returning companion. An d I agree we'll see Harding as a companion. As for cameos, i'd love to see a re-slaved Fenris, or a Tevinter-trained Connor (and not the whiney whelp from DA:I)

I really hope they're done with returning characters, romance characters especially. I mean the Warden must barely ever see their significant other anymore at this point, unless he's Zevran anyway

I want to see old characters returning, but I really really don't want to see Morrigan and Leliana again. Bioware seems to have these favorite childs that they throw in every game, book and DLC and these two are those, espeially Leliana who is everywhere, enough is enough. I want to see some other characters already.

 

We can't probaply romance companions that have been romanced in previous games. Because people believe in happily ever after and other cheesy stuff, so they would get angry if their PC had broke up with the LI.

Yeah that's true..But seeing Zevran in HD super graphics, would be amazing..even on just a poster or someting.

I agree. Seeing Zevran in HD graphics would be awesome! But as to the OP. I really doubt previous companions who were already LIs would be LIs in a future game.

I'm all for returning characters, though. I've disliked some but never actually hated anyone (except maybe Vivienne).

I think it's most likely that someone of DAI companions will end up being companion in DA4, cause that has happened with previous games. Oghren->Anders->Varric. Some previous NPCs have always been brought up as companions as well like Merrill, Isabela and Cassandra so likely some NPC's from DAI will be companions in DA4 as well.

 

I wonder what area and story we are going to go next, because it will affect what characters will return (so they fit to area or story). DAO was Ferelden and Grey Warden, DA2 Kirkwall and Mage vs Templar and DAI Orlais and Chantry story. If DA4 is Tevinter story Dorian is very likely to return. If it's about Qunari Iron Bull is likely one. Personally I don't think any of Divine options (Cass, Vivi or Lelianna) will return to companions, but they will probaply have at least mentions. I don't also think Varric, Sera, Solas or Cole will return as companions/LI's.

 

So the one who will return is between Dorian, Iron Bull and Blackwall in my opinion. I think Dorian is most likely, although it depends where next DAI is headed. I doubt he's going to be LI anymore. Only NPC I can think could return is Scout Harding, cause other good candinates like Krem and Ser Barris can die, though that hasn't stopped BW before so I'm not sure.

Hopefully not. I rather like seeing the world from a different character's eyes every time. And not having one person that everything important falls upon. Kind of wish they had a better way of handling the protagonists that are now off-screen though...
