Exalted plains is my least favorite zone. Mostly due to the parts in the zone with undead respawning over and over. It always end in me having to micromanage a lot to burn the energy barriers down to ignite the graves and kill the arcane horrors at the same time. I find it extremely tedious and in 2 of my playthroughs I've ignored the entire zone due to it.
This time - I decided to do the zone. I am wondering if an alternate strategy is chain-killing undead until they stop spawning, especially in that fortress across the bridge which is a nightmare. Does this work? Anyone tried it? Or is the only strat to zerg the objectives that causes them to spawn?
Do exalted plains undead respawn infinitely until graves burned?

From my own experience, you can kill the undead until they stop spawning but unless you burn the graves, they will re-spawn next time you go there. There may be some bit of window though. One time I had to go back to camp to restock potions and they were still dead when I returned. But if you wait too long to go back (like say, until the next day) you will have to redead them again. Learned that the hard way. I have tried to burn the graves without first killing the undead but I don't think it works. The ones that have already spawned still need to be killed. Same for the arcane horrors.
Just bring lots of fire weapons and spells. Antivan fire too. Also, I read elsewhere the hay bales are combustible so use them to your advantage.

Rush to the Arcane Horror (pressing L/or hitting disengage) > Destroy barrier > Brun the piles > Deal with what's left
