Hey guys, I just wanted to give a short feedback on DA:I (which has definately been my game of the year 2014), starting with 5 aspects of the game which i really enjoyed, followed by 5 aspects which were rather dissapointing to me. After that comparison I'm going to state my personal foolish hopes for future content in Dragon Age ;).

Things I enjoyed:

1. The game just looks amazing - beautiful landscapes!! in every area of the game and well animated characters generate an awesome fantasy world as well as the best head quarter I have ever seen in any game - Skyhold.

2. The soundtrack is very good - no need for further explanation I guess.

3. There are once more many interesting companions, delivering their own short stories, quests and interesting comments about the current situation or the various locations in the game; however they could not (at least for me) reach the level of some companions in Dragon Age Origins.

4. Very well staged main quest including many epic moments like "the dawn will come", "taming the dragon", "Morrigan (and Kieran) meet Flemeth in the fade" and "the Inquisition marches" as well as a decent final battle.

5. Spectacular dragon fights! The first time you get in an engagement with one of them is just mind-blowing. In addition they are rather challenging on higher difficulties which I really liked.

I could continue with this list but as this should be a short feedback I'm going to switch to the things I did not like.

Things I did not enjoy:

1. A lot less abilities than in Dragon Age Origins (for example the lack of healing abilities) reduces the possibilities the player has to create his own style of gameplay. In Addition with the new Frostbite Engine spells like "Inferno" or just a simple "fireball" could have been very impressive looking in Inquisition.

2. No way to custmize the character with skillpoints and additinal abilities like Persuasion, Herbalism ...

3. In my opinion the Interface does not fit for a Dragon Age game. I would have preffered an interface similar to the Origins one, which was fitting perfectly into a dark fantasy world while also beeing customizable so that you were for example able to use more than 8 different spells at a time. Also the inventory is obviously designed for the consoles. Here I would have expected a bit more effort to give the computer players a decent adjustment.

4. The side quests are often boring and do rarely tell interesting stories (this does not apply to the Jaws of Hakkon DLC). Most side quests seem to be designed for a MMO type of game which is a real pity because  Bioware is generally capable of designing very good story based quests. In Addition to this there were sadly very little interesting and extraordinary fights except the above mentioned dragon fights and the final battle.

5. I was very disapointed that the Hero of Ferelden (if alive of course) was not appearing at all and  was only mentioned in the short dialogues with his/her LI from  DA Origins. The way Bioware actually brought back old companions from Origins and even his son, while he was entirely missing actually made the scenes with Morrigan and Kieran hard to enjoy for me,  (My warden romanced Morrigan ofc ;)). After hearing things like "Kieran misses him greatly" I felt like it would have been awesome for the players to see one of their favorite characters in Bioware games (reffering to the recent "dragon age ultimate party" vote) reunited with his/her loved ones.

There were many oppurtunities to give him a short comeback (I know that he had his adventures in DA:O and DA:A and it is hard to design content considering the many different choices you could have done as the Warden, therefore I was hoping for a short scene - 5 minuts tops) and create a remarkable moment, for instance he could have been the one(and not the Inquisitor) following Morrigan through the Eluvian and meeting Kieran and Flemeth - he could also have shown up after adamant instead of just writing a letter  - I think even having him mentioned in the epilogue slideshow ( e.g. a picture with him, Morrigan and Kieran?) would have been an option. Sadly there was nothing like that - what a wasted opportunity in my opinion.

Hopes for future content:

The fact that the Hero of Ferelden did not show up until now leads to my biggest hope for future content updates (DLC/Expansion), although I'm certain that this is no easy task and that " 'Twould be most unlikely" (quoting Morrigan) - Bioware, please bring back the Hero of Ferelden! He deserves better than just writing letters and leaving his friends behind. There could be awesome scenes like mentioned above or a whole new chain of quests regarding his attempts to stop the calling - either as a helping Inquisitor or perhaps even with the Warden as PC?

In general Bioware has been pretty good at writing interesting stories - keep it up; the world you created is great.

This is of course purely my own opinion and is very subjective.

Thanks for reading and my apologies if my english was not always fitting, it was actually the first time I wrote something on the forums.

You are not alone in feeling this.

First off fix the game to work properly to specification and then start fixing plot holes, quest issues, missing and incorrect items ....-well there is a laundry list  ;), several in fact.
