I can't run a count now (at work) but I've been running into this problem regularly.

I think this cap would be much less frustrating for players if there was a fast and efficient way to salvage unwanted items. Tediously clicking, "salvage?", "are you sure you want to salvage this item", "Last chance!!! You are sure you want to salvage this item?", "Ok, final warning, we're REALLY going to salvage this item now!" buttons for each individual item are a pain in the butt.

Anyone ever salvaged a unique by mistake?

When they're gone, they're gone

Yeah I've salvaged a staff of the void before. The thing is, you're so mind-numbed by all the popup confirmations that you don't even stop to think anyway. An ordered checklist to click on to mass-salvage would be much preferred. Even if some sort of flag came up saying, "Wait!! You have unique_________. Are you sure you want to salvage?" would still be ok. It would take much less time than doing each one individually.

Based on past experiences, a dual blade dagger challenge would only register maul kills, starting 2 hours after the challenge began.

That's the devs goal, though. By having challenges that don't properly register, they force DAIMP to have a strong community that's willing to experiment and communicate in order to compete COMMUNITY challenges.

and perhaps an option to set a level for this prompt.  with that you can delete most items without worry.  that said, my staff "Fury Of The Veil" showed up as a rare, although it is a Unique.

ie.  Prompt to confirm delete Unique item level X (ie >lvl 20).  Cancel = move to inventory.

In case you need them one day?

Or just let you view the checklist prior to permanent salvaging, ranked from most powerful to least powerful. That would probably be the fastest and most efficient way.

I got a Staff of the Void when I was still an extreme noob. It must have been just a couple days after I played my first match. I equipped it on my Keeper and owned for a few matches, then I wanted to try out the Archer so I switched and went into the weapons menu. I didn't know at the time that weapons could be used across multiple characters, and I saw a Staff of the Void loose in the inventory and figured "A second one? Well I already have one equipped to my Keeper right now, I don't think I'll need another one." so I salvaged it. Next time I switched to my Keeper, I realized what had actually happened and facepalmed so hard.

And I've never gotten another one to this day. But I did get a Mindchill Staff soon after, which is pretty comparable, and since then I've also gotten Fury of the Veil and Pyre of the Forgotten, all three of which I use, so there is that.

I salvaged mine without thinking too. Don't worry though. Truth is, Fury of the Veil is just as effective if not moreso. SoTV gives you incredible durability, but FoTV's knock-down effect is actually more useful in my opinion. Want a walking fortress-like ability for the ele? Use fade cloak. Keeper? Spam barrier. AW? ...he already is a walking fortress.

The only mage who would truly benefit from this staff is the necro, imho.

Yeah I use FotV on my Keeper because of how Veilstrike puts shocked enemies asleep. For my AW it's Pyre of the Forgotten simply because it has the highest DPS of what I have, and I haven't used Necro much but I'm about to test her out with the Mindchill Staff on a Freeze/Mindblast/Virulence build. Should be pretty interesting.

Don't remember what I have on my Ele...

FC does not prevent knockdown effects. WF does. FC is not actual invincibility, even though it is close. WF prevents enemy trolling of your player, which is the biggest contributor of a mage's death--other than picnic.

Problem in chair, not in class.

Well, sure. And fade cloak bugs sometimes where you still take arrow damage. But if you don't have WF, then FC is the next best thing. Plus if you use FC after getting knocked down or panicked, you'll get right back up again or ...un-panic..

In fact because of the dispelling effect it has on things like DC's panic or getting knocked down, I tend to favor the use of this ability after rather than before.

I don't like being forced to carry around 100 armors. When I go to upgrade its hard to tell which of my armors is being warn by who. Terrible design.

Seems like great game design if you ask me. Why would you ever want to get rid of stuff you'll never use?

It's very important to pick a specific Palette Swap when applying upgrades. Armor. Sorry meant to say Armor.

I have every armour set made now and some decent weapons (but don't keep many in each type just the top 3-5)

I get to open no more than 5 large chests now without having to salvage.  Depending what equips you pick up on playing through the zones I can sometimes only open 2 or 3 chests.  I try wait until the end of the night now and do I all in one go OR if someone afk between games have a clear out then.

More space would be great or just a system like ME (I haven't played ME but heard about it) where once you get something you can't get it again?  If that is correct, would seem much better.

You will benefit from having your armor upgrades available when the next DLC is released. You won't benefit from having large amounts of superb runes with the next DLC so you could get rid of most of your runes if you want, but IMO it is possible things are changed such that runes become more useful, i.e. new equipment, crafting with runes as ingredients, equipment becoming rune-slottable, or balance changes. Right now, lightning runes are usually better than the other runes because of the shock effect being more useful, but if any changes are made, having some surplus runes will let you switch things up.

If I get a really good item first thing I do is equip it to ANYBODY that way I can't accidently salvage it.
