So, any word on when we'll get a patch that dissuades my party from considering everything from Hallas to Nugs to be a deadly enemy that must be eviscerated from the face of the Earth?

Every time I run across a creature who's health is below 100% my party whips out their weapons, preps their barriers, and sounds their war horns, ready to do combat with these harmless and non-aggressive critters. At first, it was amusing. Now it's equal parts amusing and annoying. I can't imagine I'm the only one who'd like to see a patch for this issue.

I'm a bit tired of my party screaming "DIE!!" to these poor Rams, Nugs, Halla, Snoufleurs, and other innocent fluffy creatures. Wounded innocent fluffy creatures no less. The Humanity!

That's a new one on me, but likely fits the random aggro events and some are gamekillers usually tied to a bad save.

I'm still not sure how to pronounce "snoufleur". Thus, they die.

The funniest way to kill them is to use the hook and tackle ability with a weapon that explodes all enemies for 75% damage. They explode on contact.

Removing all those grappling chain magnets from fennec rears would be a good first step.

Well, the Halla are considered sacred.  But then again, so is ketchup.

Game mechanic wise, you can blast the cute and furry to get leather, for crafting purposes.  Once a critter has been hit, well it becomes a threat and your party will respond accordingly.  Just hit the emerald graves sometime - here you are trying to deal with two pesky giants and it never fails, you tag one of those rhino critters with an AoE attack.. and boiy doesn't that get fun.  They don't do a ton of damage but man, it takes forever and a day to take them down.

Also keep in mind that if your in a combat and there are cute and fuzzies about, once you take down your enemy if your still shooting the system assumes you mean to target a cute an fuzzy.  So to avoid this just let of the throttle a bit once your down to the last enemy standing.  Otherwise, it's furry critter on a stick for dinner.

Such be life :)

Which is perfectly reasonable, however please note that the Swedish authorities do not consider that a viable defense in their courts.  Umm.. well, don't ask just take my word for it.  Lol

"Take that, you filth!"

"Dorian! What the hell, man?! It was just a nug!"

"Well, it was wounded..."

"..."

"So...I had to put it down....out of mercy..."

*kicks around exploded nug parts* "Yeah...'mercy'."

Usually one of three things happens to me with my party attacking neutral creatures:

1. Most often, I find a loot item with "Fennec Fur" or some such during my after action loot sweep. From the mages spewing lightning and fire indiscriminately I'd suppose. I don't even know how it got there, I sure didn't see it during the fight.

2. Second most often, a Gurn/Bronto/Druffalo gets whiffed by a spell or arrow and goes nuts. Party then has to drop everything to deal with it, because unlike the Giant or Behemoth or Dragon we're currently fighting, these will cause a total party kill.

3. Lastly, a Fennec randomly loses its **** and goes hostile, even without any damage done to it. It then gets atomized by the mage.

I'm still not sure how to pronounce "snoufleur". Thus, they die.

I pronounce it "SNOW-flur", probably not right, but I'm gonna keep saying it that way. They still have to die though, fresh skin is what I need. Heal on Hit is just too good to pass up.

I am referring to glitch/bug that takes place completely outside of combat. Just walking around the wilderness, attacking nothing, weapons not even drawn, and suddenly there's a red dot on the  mini-map, and around the nearest ridges comes... a Fennec. And my party flies into a bloodthirsty rage.

It'd be fine if I was hunting these creatures for crafting materials, but the bug lies in my party wanting to slaughter any and all adorable animals they see.

One of my favorite moments of my first playthrough was when Cassandra shouted, "Maker take you!" after we killed a nug in the Hinterlands. It still makes me laugh lol.

But I do understand the frustration.

I think Cassandra has a thing against Halla most of the time when I take her in my party is when I get the sudden aggro against wildlife not attacking me, some times its fences but 94% of the time it's Halla and it's almost always when she is in my group, aside from the times I want to hunt them then they all disappear, it's a damn conspiracy I tell you.

I giggled yesterday at Dorian triumphantly proclaiming "Another blighter falls!" after random a fennec kill.

But yes, it's annoying.  For me, it's almost like I get aggro just from mousing over while turning the camera, and then I can't get out of combat.  My part will be certain that this very random snowfleur or fennec or nug is out to get us.

Fennecs, man, they're these suicidal little maniacs with fur. I'm always telling my monitor, "Look, dude, you're smaller than my cat. Don't pick a fight with Blackwall!"

Because unlike nugs and hallas, fennecs will eventually turn and fight if the party gets close enough. None has ever survived long enough for me to tell if they actually bite for damage or anything.

Sometimes random woodland creatures can sustain an injury from the party or on it's own (going to quickly down a sloped surface) and become "hostile"; I usually order my party to stand-down, but I'm not always quick enough with the button.

I don't mind the mechanics, though I wish there were a way to heal the Halla and floppy-eared Fennec I didn't mean to attack.

I think they must be taking terrain damage from tripping over a piece of grass (like Iron Bull did today, causing him to have to chug a potion).  Taking damage causes the innocent creatures to aggro...they are just running around in panicked innocence but our party thinks they have to attack them then. So sad, so frustrating, so distracting, when Cass charges off after a fennec when she should instead, keep fighting the massive real enemy she was fighting two seconds ago.

In his defense, Solas IS a god to the Dalish (not that the modern Dalish know his identity), so the rules might not apply to him.

Either that or he has a really short memory span.

I think Solas thinks no rules apply to him...he's above all that. He can seem so hypocritical at times.  <_<

Would be like having Leliana in the party and player controlling her or allowing her AI to kill Nugs.

There is one area where you earn disapproval from Varric and Cassandra for killing Nugs.

Wow, really?  So the knocker is either tanking it and letting me get my head ripped off by these dang despair demons, or the Dalish worship some pretty weak dietys because this jerk goes down every time the wind changes direction.

Does sort of explain why he's so self-righteous I guess.  Doesn't really excuse it, but it does explain it.. lol
