I thought it was because a bunch of people on the forum wanted BW to do this? So much Hawke hate. So sad. ![]()

I dont think they hate Hawk. Just that many fans didnt like DA2 and by extension Hawke. So they wanted to distance themselves away from Hawke as much as possible.
I have to admit that I was disappointed that a former main protagonist is relegated into what they did to Hawke. By offering us to leave him in the fade that pretty much allows them to end Hawke's story since s/he has a 50% of death.
Even then, if left alive s/he disappears...again
Dragging Hawke's fate back into doubt even if he lives via Weisshaupt is what annoyed me intensely.
Should have just rode into the sunset with his/her loved ones, rather than being dragged back into the story desire the fact in their default he/she is dead and therefore unlikely to have a significant role in future.

Yeah I agree. I liked how DA2 ended well enough, if they weren't going to do any more. But I know how bioware likes to have protagonists mysteriously disappear as an alternative to dying, so that they can fade off into myth/legend as a hero or whatever. So I'm just gonna head canon Hawke survived whatever happened at Weisshaupt, unless they do something to contradict that. I doubt they will use him again in future games though. I suppose they might do what they did with the Warden with a codex entry or something.

Did Hawke really died?
I mean, it's possible he/she is still stuck in Fade.
Or that Orleasian Warden. Or Alistiar. Or Loghain.
Whoever you picked to stay.
