1. Who should rule Orlais?

2. Who should drink from the Well of Sorrows?

3. Who should become Divine Victoria?

These questions haunt me as I try to establish my personal canon. Seriously, I don't know what the hell to choose. And I love that. I like the ambiguity.

So, almighty BSN, what are your preferred answers to these questions?

1. I left Celene rule, Caspard lost his head. Not because I cared nor knew of the characters. Just because the premise going there was to save her to begin with.

2. My Inquisitor drinks. Morrigan needs to go back to my Warden with their son. Unharmed.

3. Leliana became divine.

1) Celene and Briala
They have ruled the Empire very well as it seems almost starting a golden age, and I just couldn't trust Gaspard even one bit.

2) Morrigan
I let Morrigan drink, but I am slightly regretting it

3) Leliana
I like that she opens up the Chantry to other races

The problem with an unstable/distracted Orlais is that apparently, Orlais is the only nation that you can count on for an army with the inevitable war starts with either Tevinter or the Quanari.

Notice that while the civil war was going on in Orlais, you couldn't afford to take action against corypheus and I imagine a scenario where there's infighting in orlais would mean that if the quanari or tevinter go on the war path, orlais would be too unstable to provide troops.

So I just discovered something interesting at Dragon Age Wiki. The only outcome of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts that does not give you a post-quest War Table Operation is the forced cooperation outcome. All other outcomes give you a War Table Operation. I guess all three potential Orlesian leaders resent the Inquisition in the forced cooperation outcome. The other outcomes, however, result in the Orlesian leader, whoever it may be, giving the Inquisition information that can help the organization.

The operation A Favor Returned becomes available if Celene rules alone

The operation A Gift from the Imperial Palace becomes available if Celene and Briala reconciled

The operation An Invitation from the Emperor becomes available if Gaspard rules alone

The operation A Whisper from Behind the Throne becomes available if Briala is in power

They can resent all they want, they are all my Inquisitor's bitches now.

1.) I get all three to work together. They deserve each other.

2.) Morrigan

3.) Leliana (inspired)

Shame really. It would be nice to have something for all that effort besides "Delicate Negotiations"

I'm always torn by Celene/Briala for peace and Gaspard for Orlais's safety and support should a war happen.

I always let Morrigan drink. She has to settle things with her mother.

Depending on my playthrough it's usually a soft Leliana for Mage rights, or a strict rule with Cass.

Delicate Negotiations occurs if you unite all 3.

That operstion occurs with any combination.

I edited it to explain what I meant. Lol I mean that's ALL you get for that. I realized my first reply was going to be misinterpreted and sounded better in my head with the added sarcasm.

1) You get to choose between a warmongering expansionist, the Butcher of Halamshiral or the ex lover with a grudge, not great choices. I went with Celene/Briala, letting Celene die felt too much like Cory winning and whatever her motivations I believe Briala will improve things for the elves of Orlais.

And I like that reuniting Celene and Briala (or creating an opportunity for Briala to gain power depending on how much you believe in the power of twu wuv and forgiveness) is something the Inquisitor does without any coaching from advisors or companions.

2) My Dalish Inquisitor drinks, at that point she had a strong belief in the Creators and a geas was something she was willing to take on in exchange for knowledge that can help her people.

3) I like the changes Leliana makes to the Chantry and her lax attitude towards danger of magic creates a natural role for the Inquisition.

- I forced the trio of backstabbing schemers to work together, ensuring that they will spend all their time battling each other for control, and preventing Orlais from bothering the rest of Thedas with their nonsense.

- I let Morrigan drink because she wanted to and because I don't fancy having the voices of a bunch of ancient elves nattering away in my head forever. I'd end up nuttier than Sera.

- I ended up with Vivienne as Divine, which was a ghastly outcome, and a direct consequence of some horrible dialogue choices made fairly early in the game. I was shooting for hardened Leliana as Divine, but no dice. I hate the Divine election, it seems like such a crap shoot.

1. Let's be real here, there is no good option. They're all greedy, ruthless and unscrupulous just the same.

Celene manages to be the worst because she burned down an elven alienage, so she's pretty much a monster. With that said, I wouldn't put it past Gaspard to do the same but since he hasn't, he's the "lesser evil".

2. If you're a Dalish elf, that's a great way to download elven lore into your head. Otherwise, there's no reason to mess with that thing.

3. That's highly subjective and depends on your views regarding the Circles. All I know is that I'd never let Vivienne succeed at her power grabbing goals.

1. Everyone sucks. But Gaspard at least see what the orlesian society for what it truly is. And he has an better sense of urgency then Celene. For now I choose truce between all three. Otherwise, Gaspard.

2. Inquisitor drinks from the well. I don't care about my Inquisitor, So I just let him take the blow for Morrigan instead.

3. Leliana. Things are going to change, whether people like it or not.

Ah, so everyone sucks but Gaspard is totally different.

(Not gonna lie, the toughest choice for me is deciding whether to make Cole more spirit or human.)

For my canon Inquisitor, the first two decisions were easy: Celene and Briala reconciled and my Inquisitor drank from the well because she didn't agree with Morrigan taking the risk when she had a son to worry about. Ultimately she supported Cassandra as Divine, but Leliana would have also been an in-character choice for her. Personally, I'm still unsure on whether I prefer Cass or Leli, that being the second toughest choice for me.

I assume the intention was that Gaspard is the lesser evil of the three.

Thank you.

Sucking less then someone else does not instantly make you good. Gaspard is still an expansionist that needs to be babysitted otherwise he attacks Ferelden.

I wouldn't mind Gaspard, but it goes against my morals to watch someone die. I would have rather had severe evidence against Celene that would ruin her, but keep her alive. Therefore, I either force them to work together, which is the bad option, or unite Celene and Briala, though Gaspard dies for it but properly and not just me standing there watching an assassination occur. I hate that part of it.

The truce is not the bad option, dont know why people keep saying it.

Because the epilogue slide suggests it's only a matter of time before the civil war starts all over again. Well, I didn't care for that anyway.

The epilogue ruins the whole idea that I helped gain peace between 3 feuding idiots.
