1. Gaspard alone, he is the best hope for Orlais to reconquer Ferelden. Plus, he invites you to the palace and has all the right ideas: he knows that orlais is the empire of men and doesn´t bother appeasing the elves. I loved his personality since i read the masked empire, a really cool guy who got his throne stolen by politicians.

2. Morrigan, i dislike the scene where you tame the dragon, plus it´s what she deserves, being her mother´s puppet fits her so well.

3. Vivienne, she is the only one where the mage rebellion doesn´t get what they wanted, it´s a victory for the status quo and the loyalist mages who support the system. Cassandra makes dumb concessions that amount to the rebel mages getting half of what they wanted (no templar oversight of them) and Leliana is just giving the rebels everything they wanted and more.

It's a fair guess that future titles will never see a conquered Ferelden, and I wouldn't be surprised if Orlais faces serious internal issues regardless of who you picked. Those Orlesians love crises.

Maybe the games could see (or hear of, anyway) more... border skirmish type activity if Gaspard was chosen, but yeah, that would be a pretty drastic difference in worldstates. And I think Bioware shies away from those drastic differences - not that I blame them in the least for doing so. XD

Maybe in the future if you selected Gaspard you'll get access to a legion of Chevalier support or something inconsequential like that.

*Celene and Briala - He really wanted a change for Orlais and I think he got it. Celene would remain on the throne and Briala would campaign for the betterment of elven life.

*My lavellan drank from the well of sorrows - No way was he going to hand over centuries of elven knowledge to some human chick when he was groomed from birth to learn the secrets of elven history. Mythal be damned.

*Lelianna as divine - My lavellan trusted Lelianna much more so than her other advisors so it was a pretty simple task. Plus, she wanted to make lives better for mages.

1. Celene rules alone and Gaspard exile - She will weaken Orlais and will be paranoid for Gaspard's return forcing her to eat from my Inquisitor's hand.

2. Inquisitor drank - I can't say no to power even if it binds me to one of the wretched False Gods.

3. Hardened Leliana - She will pave the way for the inevitable slow death of the Chantry.

Celene because Gapard seemed a bit of a git and Briala did not interest me enough to overthrow anybody

Morrigan - even knowing spoilers and even as my favourite LI it seemed a fitting moment in her story

Softer Leliana ended up as my Divine - was encouraging both her and Cassandra, had no War Table missions and ended up with Leliana.  Again for me a fitting moment seeing how Leliana's journey leads her to become Divine

1. Gaspard is just as unscrupulous, greedy and bigoted as Celene. The only difference is that she commited genocide, but I'd hardly put it past him.

Since both are horrible people, placing Briala behind Gaspard seems to be the smarter choice. She's no saint, but at least it's a situation where both are held back. He is restrained by blackmail, while she doesn't *fully* possess the power of an empress.

2. There's no reason why a non-elven Inquisitor would even consider messing with unknown magic.

3. No stabby happy Leliana for me.

Who should rule Orlias was not a problem.

And who is chosen as Divine is not a choice but a reaction to your actions.

The hardest one there was the well of sorrows.

You do understand that all three of them would commit genocide to farther their gains , right? All of them have done horrible things.

You mean the same Legion Celene would give?

"but I'd hardly put it past him"

You would do well to take your time while reading instead of just giving it a quick look.

1st playthrough = radical pro-mage/pro-minority.  Therefore:

1. Gaspard under Briala's thumb.

2. Inquisitor drank.

3. Leliana becomes divine.

Holy crap. I've just discovered that there are untranslated codex entries within the Temple of Mythal that remain forever untranslatable unless the Inquisitor drinks from the Well of Sorrows. Ugh.... That really makes me want to change my canon choice. I'd like my Inquisitor to have that knowledge, but that damn geas is a real doozy.

This is a hell of a choice, man.

I don't know, what if it turns out that it's great to be bound to Mythal? She might be one of the series' "good guys".  :P

1. Celene's pretty much scum, but plot fiat justifications aside, letting the assassin kill her is just simply ludicrous, so she has to rule.  However, because of aforementioned character traits, giving her free reign is also unacceptable.  Sparing Gaspard is my choice in game, since it keeps her on a tight leash and allows me to complete all the various quests.  Since that's not an option in the Keep (and the quest limitations aren't a thing there), my World State instead tempers her by sticking Briala at her side.

2. Morrigan drinks from the Well.  It just seems like the most appropriate way to advance her story, giving her what she'd wanted most of all (doubly so since my 'canon' involved refusing the Dark Ritual), while costing her the very thing she wanted it for in the first place.  It's maybe a bit cruel, but I have a certain appreciation for the irony.

3. Cassandra becomes Divine.  She seems like the best candidate for the job, honestly, especially since with certain other choices, it ends up de-fanging the Chantry in a military sense.  All the might remains with the Inquisition, and Cassandra can focus the Chantry towards more charitable work, which is the goal she claimed to have from the beginning. I would consider using Lelianna instead but I gets awkward when she doesn't leave at the end of the game like Cassandra does.
