So I just finished Jaws of Hakkon and decided to respec my character using Tactician's Renewal.  I had previously put a point to upgrade the new inquisitor ability, Aegis of the Rift.  As I was going through respeccing, I noticed that the upgrade for this ability did not get refunded.  I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it is working by design. It kinda sucks if I don't end up using it and that point is stuck there.

Also, what do other people think of the ability?

It seems like something you would maybe use once or twice with rifts or dragon fights and it looks cool, but it seems a bit redundant for most areas in the later stage of the game. Also seems more useful for ranged characters who won't have to move around too much once in position.

I'm loving this. I had a spare slot in my 8 for my build anyway (well, as a reaver, I wasn't using war cry as cassandra suually does all the aggro-ing). Also, as a concept, I love that FINALLY the inquisitor gets a rift ability. I really hope that they continue to think up abilities like this. Also, as a reaver, this shield is kind of a godsent. This finally lets me reave in peace without getting fulll draw'd. And I still need tot do the dragon but I imagine it'll save me lots there as well.

But, I do hear your plee, I also tried to respec and did not get those points back, they keep being invested. Which would suck if you don't like the ability.

I expect that's a bug.

Love this ability on my archer. I can just stand in it and take out all the enemy ranged unites while taking absolutely no damage :D Also, I'm hopeful they'll add more rift abilities in future DLCs, because they positioned Aegis on the right side of the Inquisitor tree, when they could have just put it directly below what was there. So I expect at least one more ability for the left side. I hope I'm not reading too much into things ^_^
