So, on the hunt the truth tumblr page, there is a new episode for the audio vid doc-

https://soundcloud.c...irline-fracture

Now.... This takes some knowledge of HALO lore, The SPARTAN 2 program and one John-117 call-sign Sierra-117, The Master Chief.

Master Chief was taken by ONI at the age of SIX. 6 years old. *This is canon and very important* and put into the Spartan 2 Super Solider Program, were he not only survived but excelled and became one of only 2 Spartans in the history of the program to be designated "hyper lethal". He defeated the Flood. Saved Earth. And all that jazz that we KNOW THE Master Chief did.... Because WE were right there with him. *This is also important for the overall cover up and black ops narrative that ONI is portraying in HALO 5.*

Now.... The interviewer in "A Hairline Fracture" audio doc, say's that..... John disappeared when he was 12.... NOT SIX. But..... 12.

At the end of the audio doc the interview say's he found a record of John that said he died in 2517 and that John died at SIX YEARS OLD..... ("Died" but more like abducted, as we all know, into the Spartan 2 program by ONI and the UNSC)

So..... The UNSC and ONI had a cover for the real John. They cloned an impostor to be John for 6 more years (as the real John was abducted when he was six, remember)

This clone not only possessed all the physical abilities that the real Master Chief had but he also had something else that Master Chief had..... Incredible luck and..... A knack for survival.

He survived the glassing of Erindanus II (Chiefs place of birth and origin). And.... Being abandoned by ONI and the UNSC.... And seeing someone who looks and talks and moves like him rising to super stardom. And getting all the acclaim (Chief. The real one). While he was abandoned and thrown out like trash.

What does he do???

Well..... He begins a campaign of destruction and chaos against ONI, the UNSC and everyone and everything that abandoned him.

And.....Master Chief, Halsey, and the UNSC are at the top of the list.

And that is the HALO 5 story line.

Notice that in the Master Chief version of the newest trailer. The "Master Chief" appears to be talking to himself..... While looking at the statue of Master Chief..... The "Master Chief" in the trailer is talking as if he's talking at himself and NOT Locke.

He doesn't address Locke until the end of the trailer. But the dialogue spoken at the beginning of the trailer is very monologish and omniscient.

The "Master Chief" in the trailer is not Master Chief, but the clone.

And he's causing tons of chaos for the UNSC and ONI and framing all of it on the real John-117.

That's my HALO 5 narrative theory. The UNSC and ONI are being targeted by the Clone of John-117, now. I have no doubt that the upper brass of ONI know about this, but like the cvnts they are, they'll never admit it. I think Locke is being manipulated. The real Chief is being framed and hunted (obviously) and the Clone is trying to destabilize the UNSC and ONI as much as possible.

I'm sure the Didact, Flood, The covenant, have a role to play. But the main pseudo narrative is that there is another "Master Chief" wrecking havoc and chaos and causing all sorts of unpleasantness and destruction to the UNSC and Humanity in HALO 5.

The seeds of our future. Are sown in his past.

Eh, no.

The clone theory is a given. Every S-II was flash cloned and replaced when they were abducted by ONI. It's mentioned that the clones were physically and mentally unstable and degraded rather rapidly. Few of them survived to adulthood (look at Daisy-023's clone), and they were plagued with physical problems. In one case, the father of Naomi became convinced that the clone was not 'his' daughter.

And, even though the canon of the story is questionable by official sources (due to the events portrayed not aligning with the in-game sequence in Halo 2), according to the short story Palace Hotel, the Master Chief, during the initial stages of the Battle of Earth, came across a platoon of Marines that were survivors from Eridanus II prior to its destruction by the Covenant. The Platoon Leader was a Marine Lieutenant by the name of Parisa, a woman who once knew the Master Chief prior to his conscription into the S-II program. He saved her from drowning once when they were children together, and she keeps a picture of him (at 6 years old) as a reminder of what she fights for (she confirms that John's clone died soon after John had been taken by ONI).

By her account, John's clone is already dead. And it doesn't seem like a very Halo thing to do. It's too Space Opera-y. Halo isn't really a space opera.

The story is meant more as a broad stroke. So the events are considered to have happened, but just not as how it was shown in the short story.

Then maybe it's a contradiction? The reason why the permanent clone theory (regardless of whether there's a cloneChief like there was a cloneshep) is appealing right now is because the interviewees didn't seem to be surprised that John is still around and kicking. Which seems doubtful to me because you'd imagine that if the flash clone thing is true and Palace Hotel is not a fever dream John did die in the end.

Which opens questions of 'are these people that the war correspondent speaking to people hired by ONI to create an appealing story about the origin of the SIIs?' Which I find more likely. It pushes ONI into being a rather weirdly manipulative though.

I dunno, I'm not up on my Halo lore. But the permanent clone thing seems quite unlikely.

The only reason I could think of for ONI to have a perma clone is if they're trying to clone Chief to create an army of perfect humans to turn into Spartans...

Which is something ONI would do in all fairness. A clone army based off of 117's template, and all trained upon, say, the S-III model? The UNSC would be unstoppable.

Wouldn't be kind of weird to start something like that way back before the appearance of the Covies? I mean, they knew John was a great candidate and that he would become a very strong Spartan, but even someone like Halsey wouldn't have sat back and thought 'hell, we might as well just clone the bugger now and raise an army'. She's nuts, brilliant, but I don't think she has precognition to know exactly what the hell the Chief would wind up doing in the next decades.

OR DID SHE. I dunno. Somehow now getting flashbacks to Sonic Adventure DX where you play as the robot who has to destroy all his robot bros to save some birds. Gross.

I'm not saying it'd be over time. And I'm not saying it's more than a thought experiment. But, even as early as the 2530's, ONI would be analyzing the S-II's record against the Covenant, and possibly looking for a way to clone the highest rated ones and turn them into S-III's to increase effectiveness.

Just a thought.

Sounds like wild fanfiction, but it's better than what 343i themselves has been doing with the universe.

Yeah, this is probably what they're doing. And they need to have a reason to kill and discredit Chief. Hence my evil clone theory, lol. But yeah, it could be for what you're saying here.

It's funny that you think Halo is excessive, especially considering the other FPS games on the market.

The teacher is obviously an ONI plant, most of what he said was scripted as to give the public a more ideal image of MC to cover up his kidnapping.

When I saw that trailer where Master Chef is wearing a hooded cloak OVER his armor, I said to myself "that may be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a game trailer"

I dont see what that has to do with the franchise as a whole and the games but ok.

Why the heck was he even wearing hood in the first place?! He's got super armor!

As far as I'm concerned, it was the 'real' Chief. The story here from my opinion and also Drone's (from what he just posted) is that the people in the interview are lying-- at least as far as John being alive after being replaced with a flash clone. So there is no 'fake', there are just lies about who chief is and where he came from. Possibly.

So its just hype to get people interested for HALO 5?

Real, even if he's a clone. Are his actions any less extraordinary even if he was a fake?

That said, the clone plot... why are people assuming that it's a bloody clone plot? It's ONI! For my sake, look at what they do for a living! They're just trying to justify an agenda of some kind. I think people are overreacting here.

You guys have been playing too much Mass Effect.

It is a cover up, the short story "Palace hotel" confirms that John died at the age of 6 and Ben discovered documents on his own that indicate that he died at the age of six. Add to that all the people who he (especially Dion) interviewed were set up by ONI.

All trailers are hype, but if this is trying to be particularly insightful then I imagine there is more to this than just random incorrect audio-logs. Hunt for the Truth may very well explain something about Chief's relationship with ONI which we don't already know, or give insight into the interim period between H4 and H5. Or anything. Next episode might give us a better clue, our theories might be refined or rebuked. Until then, I do believe that it is better for us to foster curiosity, which I think 343 is trying to get us to have. Whether you like that or not is your business, I just think this is interesting all the same.
