UPDATE: DUE ON ALL OTHER PLATFORMS ON MAY 26TH!

Dragon Age: Inquisition – Jaws of Hakkon Cross-Buy Program

http://www.dragonage...oss-buy-program

jaws_of_hakkon_article-header.jpg

Thinking about upgrading to a next-generation console down the road? Wouldn't it be great if your DLC carried over to your new system? Well, now it can! Purchase *Dragon Age: Inquisition – Jaws of Hakkon for either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and it'll be waiting for you to download on your new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One at no additional cost.

IMPORTANT: The cross-buy promotion only works within the same family of consoles. For example, if you purchase Dragon Age: Inquisition – Jaws of Hakkon on a Sony console, it will carry over only to another Sony console.

Here's how it works:

Please note that this offer applies only to the DLC, not the main game, which must be purchased separately.

Dragon Age: Inquisition – Jaws of Hakkon is available now! Click here to learn more about it.

*Requires Dragon Age: Inquisition to play; sold separately.

At least you guys get to look forward to a new piece of DLC. We just got to play it very suddenly. Ruined all the suspense. :(

But seriously, this sucks.

Unfortunately given the response i've heard from forums and co-workers i'm not very excited by this release. Will probably give it a pass, fingers crossed for the next DLC!

I wonder if they'll release it alongside the Black Emporium...

I also fail to see how this is bad. A bit frustrating, but that's the nature of timed exclusivity anyway; I can safely say I'm happy it's not a year-long wait, or a six month wait. The fact that it will come out around the same time as the Black Emporium actually makes me more excited to get back into the game.

I'm disappointed.  Especially since they just said...May.  See, I'm kinda betting that a LOT of customers are of the age where...hmmm...wait, that's about when Summer starts.  ANY age is going to be affected.  High School students just graduated (possibly the same as college), or are out for the summer.  Sun, fun...vacations.  Dating, movies...sure, gaming, but limited funds.  College students?  Same deal.  Adults?  Bills, maybe if they have kids, there will be vacations...just a bad time to hit.  End of May?  Anyone know of any movies, or A list titles releasing about then?  Just seems like a really bad time to release a bit of DLC.

I mean, yeah, I should be thrilled we are getting it, but I really feel that PlayStation and 360 users were barely an afterthought by corporate.  This dropped from yeah, I'll get it.  It's now, wait and see.  If ALL the DLC is going to be like this...I may actually pass.  Really.  Leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.  I'm in no big rush.  Plus, the way Dragon Age Keep works...you wait long enough, and you'll just be able to select the choices for the next game anyway.  Black Emporium catches my attention...but Jaws?  Not so much.  Borderlands just arrived.  Considering all the content it has, and how long it takes me to get through it (I'm a horrible FPS player.  Seriously, I suck), I may not even notice it being released.

Again, I really like Dragon Age.  DAII was my first foray into the series.  I really liked it.  Then, I stopped by the boards here, and after reading the comments, I picked up DAO.  Played thorough it, then Awakening, just to see how DAII changed.  Same with Mass Effect.  Tons of wasted hours.  Had a blast.  However, I never felt that EA was denying PlayStation gamers just because we had a Sony console.  Not till now.  In fact, I think that hearing that they are shafting 360 users as well just twists it.  It's like openly humiliating your little brother because he isn't tall enough to go on the roller coaster.  Yeah, some do it, but it's still scummy.

Maybe I'm just bitter.  Or tired.  No, I AM tired, but we'll see.  You know what...maybe Bioware will come out around the release, remind us all that we are ALL valued customers (I'd say EA...but seriously?  EA?  Treat customers like they are people?  Uh huh...right), and just...you know, make us feel like ONE big community...not segregate us into labels and groups.  We dropped that crap in High School, didn't we?

We'll see.  Rant over.

As a 360 player, I'm pretty much appalled at this business plan! Sure it sucks to be told that, "Even though your a commited xbox player for 7 years, you are of little value to us as you don't have an Xbox One yet!" I think for this type of a releas, to wait 2 whole months from now??? That is absolute bullcrap! I hav3e been more than patient and understanding before and after the release, even making excuses for things I don't understand! But this pretty much takes the cake.... I'm not denouncing DA or anything drastic and irrational as that, but you can bet i'm waiting till all the DLC is released before i purchase a single thing!

Darkstarr11: we are just labels and groups to EA, this definitely proves that! I love the writers, artists, developers, QA, etc... from Bioware, every single IP in fact!, but Being bought out by EA has ruined them....

I'm a bitter person.... but this kinda crap is what has done it too me....

Microsoft has been doing this for years not still not sure why people act all surprised.

Activision has done it

Bethseda has done it (the fact that they did must mean it's good since everyone seems to believe they can do no wrong)

Square-Enix is doing it with an entire game (Rise of the Tomb Raider)

It's bad because it's tiered service to players based on console.

Bioware/EA is sitting on DLC for their players because they were paid to do so.

This is not okay.  Not for EA, not for any company.  Not for a week, not for a month.

Ahahahaha!!!  You can't be serious Bioware!  This is comically shameless!  You can't expect people to wait until motherloving MAY for a sub par DLC that comes out in the same month as such titles like The Witcher 3!  Does your arrogance know no bounds?  Not only are you taking a metaphorical #2 on all the PlayStation fans, but making them wait THAT LONG?  This is rich.  Just absolutely rich.  I already played the DLC on PC but I am almost....suffering from second hand rage simply for owning a PS4 as well.  And for merely buying this DLC and supporting such crappy business practices.    And as per the norm, the usual Bioware apologists come out in full force to defend them.

There is no defending this.  Period.  There is no argument you can make, no defense you can put up, no words you can twist around to put this in a positive light.  This is bad.  Shame on you Bioware.  Shame. On. You.

Hmm, well waiting to give it to us until May most likely means I'll be over my "Argh, I need this now" phase, as plenty of spoilers will be out by then. Hopefully the next DLC isn't timed exclusive as I may be waiting to get this at the same time as the next DLC release instead of as soon as it's available to me. I'm not sure yet, I guess we'll see once May rolls around.

I don't approve of it, but its not horrible to have it 1 or 2 weeks out, but now there are sections of the BW forums that I don't want to look at so I can avoid spoilers (found out the BIG BAD before the game even came out last time)!

There is literally nothing to spoil.  That's how bad this DLC is.  There's hardly any story to speak of.

Kinda off topic but…..

does this mean that any potential DAMP DLC is going to be delayed by two months as well?

It seems that there was a lot of discussion about some of the new multiplayer characters last week, but BioWare had declined comment about them. If the JoH exclusive access bs is holding up new DAMP content I can't see the online portion of the game really doing well. I mean the game has been out for about five months now, and the multiplayer aspect has had nothing to show for it besides a slight tweak on the maps and animals being included in the spawn rotations.

ME 3's MP had brand new maps, weapons, equipment, and characters out in just one month after release.

"Hey, your foot was amputated, but at least it wasn't the entire LEG!"

Not a comparable situation.

Kind of comical that you're the one foaming at the mouth, when you were clearly aware of the situation, and it being "unacceptable", but still chose to buy and play the DLC on PC. Kind of rings a bit hollow, no?

The fact is, I'm not so wrapped up in the game to compare not getting DLC for a month to losing a leg, or foot. If some are, then I'm sorry. Yes, it sucks, yes, the practice is pretty underhanded, hurts the players, and is shameful, but it's nothing new. There are worse tactics that gamers accept and defend every day, and sure, I'd like to see them stop, but the likelihood they will in this environment is slim-to-none. Primarily because those vocal forces that could put a stop to it, end up giving the companies their money anyway.

Just to point out as a reminder, this delay is ONLY for this first SP DLC. Any other DLC thereafter will NOT be under the Microsoft contract delay. Thank the Maker.

Not saying that as approval of the practice, by the way (my feelings are quite the opposite of approval). I'm a PS4 player suffering like my brethren. I do have to say I remain shocked XBox 360 got lumped into the "misfits" that have to wait, though. Way to eat your own and long-lived customers and to punish them for not buying your newest console, Microsoft.

Ah yes, let's resort to hyperbole and subtly insinuate I'm a hypocrite.  That'll get your point across.  Meanwhile, you're waxing long drawn out diatribes that basically amount to "I'm hugely apathetic about crappy business practices while insulting others and simultaneously claiming the moral high ground."

Please.
