That nug was bought and paid for, fair and square. What beef have you with her for that?

And that means her exalted marches against Orzammar is fully justified, if she declares a Nug untouchable holy animal and weren't please how the Dwarves eat them, and to be fair it was the Warden who bought her that nug.

How often have you seen India declare war against countries that eat beef? I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

There is a time that war started for ridiculous reasons, and while I may sound like a  pessimist or too harsh on Divine Leliana, I wouldn't put that much of faith and confidence as her reign could either be a golden age or disaster. Hell, I doubt Divine Cassandra/Vivienne's reign will remain good forever. Only time will tell.

Indeed. But I'll never put Cassandra, who has no political aptitude and not enough intelligence, and is far too conservative, or Vivienne, a power-hungry bullying control freak, on the Sunburst Throne.

well it's not entirely unheard of...

at least the Muslim population of Colonial India had risen in revolt over being forced to use pork products

There are plenty of religions that have sacred animals that they don't mind killing:

Nugs are just the new Lambs of S.Thedas

she has the right kind of political aptitude for the current situation, less ceremony and pomp, more getting stuff done.

That's a completely different matter. The equivalent of that would be if Orzammar conquered the surface and the humans revolted over being forced to eat nug.

But she doesn't get nearly enough done, and she's the worst choice if you ally with the mages (Leliana helps them find acceptance and Vivienne just seizes control of them, while Cassandra lets the split in the mage factions fester).

Great, not only will Leliana put the nug wranglers out of business, leaving thousands of dwarves in poverty, she will also lead to the starvation of the lower classes of dwarven society who rely on nugs for food.

She is a monster.

I say she does more than enough.  A new Circle and a new Templar Order, reform but not too far

An utter waste of valuable resources, with the mages freed and the templars annihilated. I see no reason at all I'd want her in that position.

Yes! Resources which could otherwise be used in the Exalted March against Orzammar!

Wait, I think I know how Inspired Leliana managed her absurd feats! She simply gave everyone a new enemy to focus on: Orzammar. Now, instead of becoming abusive templars, all those violent young men will simply become butchers of Dwarves, cutting down those dirty Nug-killers down to the last.

By Inquisition the War is less about freedom and more about survival. Either you die by the Templar's sword or die a slow death in the Circle.

"Slow death" in the Circle -- LOL! As if to say living poor in the barren winter wasteland up north is more desirable.

And that, of course, assumes the magisters will make good on their promise in the first place. Which...

I'm confused, how far north exactly are we talking?

What barren winter wasteland? Thedas is in the southern hemisphere; north is hotter.

The mages never did anything to earn my support. Why should I do anything to help them?

She goes too far!

We must put a stop to this monster before she destroys the very foundation of Dwarven society!

Can I posit that people blame individuals for chaos when variables such as the social, cultural, ecnomic factors connect and contribute to the chaos. You can execute as many Fiona's as you like, but as long as the Circle is a prison, people like Lysas, just an elf as he says "“It's not right. I studied hard, I passed my Harrowing, I sing the Chant. But I'll be locked up for the rest of my life.” will turn into an Anders out of resentment.

Templars fear mages but they willingly follow an envy demon because they resent people questioning their authority, especially when they see it as righteous. Their authority stems from their duty of being emotionally distant from their charges and to kill, imprison, or tanquilize when they deem mages "unreasonable". This leads to resentment on all sides and results in the templars to grandstand, abuse their power, and forsake their vows.

Maybe that is the issue, that it's all connected. the Circle enables abuse, fear, jealousy and envy.

Ameridan was chosen because he united these disparate groups but in my opinion, The Circles are making everyone divisive. It also has more vulnerabilies than before, considering that now Seekers have to watch templars for not being poisoned by red lyrium, as well as weird cults like the Promisers, and mage extremists like the resolutionists or venatori attacking the Inquisition and chantry through terrorist and propaganda means.

Yeah. I know. You missed the part where I'm pro-mage. I've defended Anders, I've written rants about how much the circle system sucks and how much I loath the Templars. I still haven't managed to side with the Templars in any game because even thinking about it makes me feel awful.

But Fiona is an incompetent moron. The Templars have nothing to do with it. Some mages are idiots or dangerous just as some Templars are nice. In Fiona's case her idiocy makes her dangerous. She can sell herself into slavery all she wants, but leave the other mages out of it.

Yup! And possibly free Templars!
