I am sure there have been other requests for this, but I hope you will take a moment to read mine.

I enjoyed seeing Hawke in inquistion, don't get me wrong, but of the three she was my least favorite. I know that with the amount of choices Origins gave us that having the Hero of Ferelden in Inquisition would be a daunting feat. I work in the industry and I understand how much effort goes into making games, especially something of this caliber.

However, I would love what you did in Mass Effect 3, with the Citadel expanion, but for Dragon Age. Where I could be the Hero of Ferledon once more! I could talk to Morrigan about her Child that she had with my Husband, the one true king Alistair. I could see my beloved old hound, grey in the face, but still as happy as ever. I would love to be able to meet Cassandra as the new the Divine. I imagine great things that my Hero could explore and experience in this new improved Thedas!

I understand the hardship you might face, what if other players had the warden die in DA:O, what if they never romanced? What if Morrigan didn't have the ritual? So many threads to weave in a $15 dollar DLC. However, I would tell you that if you made an expansion the way you did for Awakening, that allowed me to be the Hero of Fereldon in the timeline of Inqusition, with the two worlds colliding. I would pay GOOD money for that.

I have bought the collectors edition and EVERY DLC for all the Dragon age games and it is my FAVORITE setting in the fantasy RPG genre. If the Hero of Fereldon came back in DA:4 instead of a DLC for DA: I, I would be happy with that, but as of right now I need to see her face to face again.

Thank you for your time!

Won't work. The Warden can use any weapon combinations, dual-wield etc. Or be a blood mage, cast healing spells + + +. DA:I doesn't allow that stuff.

If they did go that route, it'd be a full blown game I suspect (unless it was just a cameo in a DLC about the Inquisitor). I believe Dragon Age: Awakenings was not as cost efficient as they had hoped, so an expansion is unlikely (unless they've found a new model that's improved).

Out of curiosity, what sort of story might you be looking for with the Warden? The issue of the Calling? Just because, as much as I enjoyed the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect, that was wrapping up three games (I tend to end my ME3 runs there). With the Warden, I'm uncertain how much time would actually be spent catching up with old companions, and how much of that time would actually be realistic/fun. If the Warden did make a return, they'd probably have a new set of companions (like Awakenings), and we'd only see cameos of the old faces, which may or may not be particularly satisfying. Additionally, if we did have a new set of companions, why bring in the warden at all? If a game is being made purely for nostalgia's sake, I feel it may be filled with questionable design decisions (Conrad Verner's line "You know Gavin Hossle? Small universe" comes to mind).

I apologize if any of this is coming off as less than polite. I just have yet to be particularly convinced that bringing back our Wardens for nostalgia's sake would automatically make for an improved game. I guess I'm saying I want them to write the best story they can, and not write the story that shoehorns an older/potentially dead character back in.

Not that I would boycott them if they did go that route. I'd still buy the game. It just wouldn't be my cup of tea in the initial sense.

Usually, though, the DA books tend to focus on the next game\expansion. The first one tied into the first game, the second one tied into Awakening, etc. The newest book is very much tied to the Wardens. So a warden based expansion pack or something might not be that far fetched.

Do you mind if I ask which book? I've only read up to The Calling ^_^ so I don't know much about the ones after it.

The Last Flight. That one is the new one, and it takes place around DA:I. Its Warden-heavy. I haven't read the whole book yet, though.

Asunder, which is the third one was building up to an expansion pack for DA2 that got scrapped. And The Masked Empire leads very well into DA:I. Seems to be a pattern.

I think there are so many stories going on right now related to the Hero that there is no way they can't include the Hero in the next game.

You've got the Mythol-Mind-Lock on one important character or the other. You've got the taint. You've got the possible cure. You've got the remaining darkspawn magisters. You've got the elven pantheon as possible enemies. You've got Qunari agents spread all throughout Thedas. You've still got Fade rifts. You've got the Chantry and Circles to deal with based on who is Divine. You've got Kal'Sharok. You've got Dalish clans. You've got the Wardens at Weissupt and the other ones rebelling. You've got Hawke "disappearing" maybe for real this time. You've STILL got Flemeth and her reckoning to deal with. You've got the possible old god soul to do something about. You've got Leliana still working for the Inquisition possibly. You've got Ferelden to joint-rule over possibly. Etc.

All these things can tie directly to the Hero. And if my Inquisitor is okay with tracking down a dead predecessor, then he should jump at the chance to track down the Hero. I mean. the Hero will want to know what happened, right? Corypheus getting killed is pretty big news.

For me it would tie into the quest "Contacting the Hero of Fereldon". I felt it wasn't enough to just say, "She was gone, wants to help, but dealing with the Calling." I want to know more about it. I feel that a confronation with Morrigan is nessessary. I think that it should be something we get, not for nostalgia, but because it would be wrapping up the Warden's story.

I agree Awakening didn't do as well as Bioware might have hoped, but I believe they could make a game that utilizes the DA:I engine and mechanics, while also expanding on it. Its true we had different options in Origin, options I miss. However we have seen this company create expansions and DLC where we are outside of the major story timeline. So doing an adventure with the Hero during the Calling would not be unheard of. I really want to know what my character has been up to during DA2 and Inquisition and make those decsions myself if possible.

Regardless I will always have my imagination of what has happened, but I think its a really good story that could be told. Would it be difficult? Sure! But I know that the developers have it in them to be able to tackle this option. I miss the style of Origins and it is one of the BEST games I've played.

Picture this in your mind

************************************

The Inquistor sends the letter off to the Hero of Fereldon, a raven flies from Lilliana's hand and across Thedas, it's black wings soaring majestically through the wilds until it comes up on the shoulder of a DA:I version of the Warden. The Warden reads the letter and looks out across the field of grey wardens. If she married Alistair he is there beside her. If you didn't kill Anders he may be there as well. Logain if you didn't side with Alistair. You go through an adventure with your fellow wardens, new and old, but regardless you have your faithful Mabari by your side.

Learn more about the Grey Wardens and if Fereldon truly got rid of the Blight. See how the Inquistor's decsions effect the this story line. Watch as new warden is forged through the joining and take a new recruit under your wing! See what Flemeth does with the Wardens. Meet face to face with Morrigan and hear how she is fairing with the Inquistor and her son (if she has one).

Have one last adventure with the silent protagonist who stole your heart in DA: Origins and learn more about the lore of Thedas.

**************************************************

Obviously that is just my quick idea for the expansion/DLC, but I would love to hear more from you guys on how it could be improved and expanded to fit what other players were looking for with the Warden in Inqusition.

Don't forget that some Wardens died, so it may be the Orlesian warden commander rom Awakening.

That would be neat too! :) I know it's a bit complex for the writers, but again I think it's worth it to expand on the Grey Wardens.

In a recent kotaku Q&A with some of the BW heads in dealing with DAI, they mentioned (paraphrase) that adding the Warden from DAO would be very, very challenging. Not only because of the many options of how he or she ended their chapter, but also the voice acting. It could break the player's cannon of how their Warden spoke in their mind. They gave a metaphor of having a mute best friend and suddenly, they start talking.

IMHO, I wouldn't mind my Wardens to have actual voices. It IS strange that you get to chose a voice at the beginning of the game, but then you never hear it.Ever. Ha!

The ending of DAI does heavily imply that the Wardens with have an impact on the world again very soon.

I don't mind if they transform the Warden into something that doesn't require intricacies and voicing. Just as long as we don't get SWTOR-Revan going on.

If they make him a shadowy/background figure that we don't get directly involved with, I can do that. Just as long as it isn't shown as more of a 'tease'.

Or Bioware could be just trying not to get our hopes up because plans and work isn't more set in stone, but they may very well have intent to have the Warden in either DAI DLC or DA4.

Personally, I just want the Warden's story to more definitively end (if still alive). Not in a forced feeling way, not in a bad ending way, but just an end to his story, which clearly is still continuing in DAI, even if off to the side. I do not necessarily need to have him voiced and corresponding exactly to DAO choices/gear/class/etc, but I do want Bioware to treat DAO-Warden with clear respect, compared to how I saw Revan treated in SWTOR. An ending to his story doesn't need to mean he'll be a boss, or be the focus, or anything like that.

Nope, but they should bring all of that, including a playable hero in the fourth game.
