Think I might play Pillars of Eternity with a custom party so why not use people or characters from the BSN community? Just post your preferred race/class combination and appearance as well as preferred weapons and gear, party role and general build if you can, will use the most interesting characters that fit well with the party composition.

If unfamiliar with Pillars of Eternity here is a race and class list.

Sounds like fun.

My current (and only character) is an Orlan hearth rogue named Marya. She has dual daggers, a bow, some medium armour and mad skills. :D

Crusty the Hearth Orlan Chanter. Focusing primarily on PER, INT and RES, with a little boost to CON at the expense of MIG and DEX. Something like 8/12/8/20/15/15, or whatever floats your boat if that's too munchkin. But that kind of distribution.

Wielding a Pike as a primary, and a Sabre/Shield as secondary set, he's decked out in the heaviest, thickest armour you can find. Primary role is as support, the Pike allows him to be placed directly behind your melee characters. Plus the Hearth Orlan background means that he'll be getting more Crits than usual if he supports your tank(s). He can be manuevered easily to block and catch foes who try to engage your ranged characters. He also works as an impromptu tank, the massive Perception/Deflection bonus means he rarely gets hit and the early levels will have you using Summons to take the pressure off him if necessary.

Beyond that, his position and INT bonus means that his buffs reach both your ranged and melee lines, along with frontline enemies if you choose to go with debuffs. Plus he can summon Skeletons or a Phantom too. Phantom for Damage output + stun, Skeletons for flanking bonus + interrupt.

It's basically what I'm using for my main game now, though the stat distribution isn't as lopsided.

From a roleplaying perspective, it basically encapsulates my BSN name and personality.

"Chanters are storytellers and repositories of ancient lore from myriad cultural traditions."
My Let's Plays mostly feature classic games or games with older mechanics.

Doesn't like to instigate conflict, but is decked out in a shiny breastplate with the ability to defend himself if necessary. Plus is a racial minority. Essentially, a Knight of Colour. :)

HMmm... You can try my current char:

Paladin (Wayfarer)

Human (the most common kind, what was the name? From the plains, etc..)

Background is wanderer I think

Most points went into PER and RES, with a minor in MIGHT and DEX. I pretty much keep everything at min 11.

Heavier armor preference

Preferred weapon: Two-handed sword.

Preferred skill: Athlethics.

Heavy use of Flames of Devotion and Zealous Aura.

For personality, mostly compassiante and patient, but very rational. Almost always willing to listen to both sides of the story (unless really angry - for example, that noble that raped his own niece? Wasn't interested in his story, only his head)

I can supply you with more details when I check my game

I'd fit well with a Godlike Cipher. Personality-Wise, bouncing wildly between Lawful Evil and Lawful Neutral. Cryptic, Bi-Polar, plays Devil's Advocate. Nothing like the real me, of course.

Cipher – can peer through the spiritual energy of the world to manipulate other souls. They are offensively-oriented psionicists/soulknives, who need to build up focus through conventional weapon attacks.

Dammit B.A., Stop making me want to try the game already. Geez. #BlameBroska

Interesting, so far I'vemade a character that looks a bit like my Avatar, so let's go with that.

Heimdall the Pale Elf Cipher. Not actually very far with my first character yet, but so far I'm dual wielding a spear and a dagger. A bit of a recluse, knows a lot about lore and athletics, but not big on people skills. Medium armor, a cloak and hood.

Fairran the fire godlike rogue. He has max dexterity (19 or 20, I can't remember) along with 16 might, 14 intelligence, 12 perception, 9 resolve, and either 9 or 10 constitution (again, I can't remember). His weapon sets are rapier/stiletto dual wield and a pistol. He wears medium armor, uses the male fire godlike portrait, and has the third fire godlike hairstyle. His colors are blue and green. His only active ability is blinding strike, and he has the fast runner feat. He uses the stoic voice.

Nice characters posted so far but still unsure as to what to do with my own character, pretty sure I will go a gun toting Dwarven Ranger (how are guns in this game? Viable as a weapon of choice or only useful in certain situations?) but unsure what to pick for an animal companion, in Both Origins and Arcanum Broska had a war dog but unfortunately that does not seem to be an option in PoE, I know there is a wolf but it just doesn't feel like a good fit for the character, perhaps the Boar or the Bear would be a better fit but unsure which one to go with.

Go boar! Nobody goes boar and he feels so lonely and unloved...

Adopt a boar Broska and name him Pigsley!

Pigsley and FraQ will keep you safe!

But will the Boar keep Broska warm at night? Or is FraQ volunteering for those duties? Broska has a very intimate relationship with his animal companion.

Whatever your needs Pigsley is up to the task! He'll even cuddle ya once the fire goes out.

Or is FraQ volunteering for those duties?

That would depend upon two things...

1. How much ale has FraQ had to drink?
2. How do you look in a dress and bonnet?

Think of the boar as an emergency stash of bacon for when everyone decides to have a late night breakfast.

Yea, I am NOT eating that pig!

Though I will admit that the thought of the party sitting around a late night campfire, Mousestalker smugly eating bacon, Broska weeping into his beard, and FraQ cleaning his axes while very pointedly not watching Mousestalker take another bite gives me a chuckle.

:P

What would really complete the party is a PC with a chicken (specifically laying hen) companion.

And for the record, I would share. No one would have to be sad and hungry. ;)

Most people dream of Adventure and Glory!

Mousestalker dreams of late night Eggs and Bacon...

I hope our Chanter can carry a tune. A Chanter's not a Bard just like a Poet's not a Musician. Kinda bummed there is no instrument slot in the Chanter's inventory. :P

YOU MONSTER! How dare you even entertain such a thought! If we ever need an emergency supply of meat it will be the Orlans who are first to go.

Alright, what I'm going with in PoE:

Nattfare is a Meadow folk human chanter of the Living Lands.

I always try to make skalds as my main character. So to get that Viking look he is sporting a light brown hair and braided beard. Weapon of choice is a hatchet and a round (medium) shield while wearing mail. Haven't really decided what his secondary weapon is going to be, right now it is a hunter's bow.

Since he is supposed to be a Viking he prefers to be in the thick of battle. ;)

His stats ended up as following:

Might - 14

Con - 11

Dex - 12

Per - 12

Int - 15

Res - 14
