Is Flemeth's makeover part of the story?

So this has been something that's been on my mind for a really long time-Flemeth's makeover in Dragon Age 2. In Origins, Flemeth appears to The Warden as a small, scraggly old woman. She's rather unattractive and looks dirty-she basically looks like what you would expect a crazy old woman that lives in the middle of the woods to look like. In Dragon Age 2, Flemeth along with many other characters got a huge makeover and she looks more traditionally attractive. She looks younger, her body is in much better shape, she has beautiful flowing white hair, she looks cleaner and instead of wearing dirty rags she's wearing badass armor. In Inquisition, she looks pretty much the same except that as time went on she's gotten older and aged.
I was just wondering if Flemeth's appearance change from Origins to 2 is relevant to the story. I read a theory that said Flemeth wanted to appear to The Warden as a defenseless old woman and she wanted to appear to Hawke and their family as someone that's strong and capable of helping them. I thought that theory was really interesting but if it was true wouldn't some of the other characters like Morrigan have taken notice? And if that was true why did she appear to The Inquisitor and Hawke the same way?

I think it was part of an act, yeah. She was deceptive in general in DAO (or rather, not really one for disclosure). That was kind of the cool thing to me when she showed up in DA2.

I've never been terribly fond of the baddass-ification of Flemeth tbh. It reminds me of Yoda pulling out a lightsaber and doing backflips all over the place in the Star Wars prequels. In DA:O, there was always the impression that this raggedly dressed, creepy old lady was a lot more than she appeared to be, but it wasn't right in your face...so I remember an audible 'Oh s***' when it turned out she could transform into a bloody dragon.
Now...you see her, and she's basically the exact image of what I'd expect a woman who can turn into a dragon to be. I guess it fits for how she showed up in the other two games, DA2 particularly, where you see what she can do and then you see her, but...meh. Would have been interesting if she changed looks again for the third outing, but I guess that's the iconic look now.

It's a little different there. Yoda was using everything he had in the force...even for the lightsaber combat. He went right back to his actual physical pace once he didn't need to.
