Ok...  Maybe I suck real back.  I am rank 386 right now, not great but not bad.  I think I am going to pass on this multiplayer.  I can't catch up with you guys.

 

 

Forget the leaderboards.  Just play for fun.  Learn via practice, and other players (what to and not to do).  There are also plenty of build/strat guides in this forum, as well as loads of youtube vids you can learn from.

I haven't noticed an increase in damage from archers but I have noticed that being in the open can create multiple lines of attack from them. Any kit without a shield to throw up can take a beating, and not just from the archers.

Any ideas about why archers are full drawning some of us for 1k+ on threatening? Through guard :P


These are not archers. These are geth rocket troopers with changed exterior design. Triple tap rocket in your face, that's how it's done. First shield gates and stuns you, second health gates and stuns you, and third finishes you off.

Full draw or that weird glitchy evade shot thing they used to do that 1 shotted everyone.

That's the one, they still do it ;P

I'm not just talking about damage in general, it's the evade shot in particular, I've seen it hit me for 1600 a few times.

hasn't this been the case for a while? the archers evade shot is pretty much the only attack you have to fear from them. in my experience it does 3-4 times the damage of their full draw. i don't know if this is by design or not but this attack definitely hits harder than pretty much any other units attack in the game. after i learned that this is what was getting me killed in threatening and perilous games i rarely go down to it anymore since its easy to spot, and if i do get hit i usually know what i did wrong.

I had a venatori archer pull a leaping shot on me in a recent game.  It happens at about 0:20

That's easier said than done when you take connection issues into account.

 

Don't engage if you cannot kill them before they can do the leaping shot. Includes waiting for cooldown for Twin fangs / rampage or charging bull / pommel strike for knockdown / stun / etc. Stealth / Circle & Strafe them and take cover as needed.

 

Playing off-host sucks, but that's no excuse for not learning and adapting.

At least it's gives me comfort to say I am not the only guy who feel the pressure on Threatening.  I know there are a lot of players out there with best weapons and armors and life leeching rings/amulet.

 

What I am missing is the life leeching, and also I believe the later patches shrink the area of my Templar's Wrath of Heaven by quite a lot.  And now it's taking a long time to activate the skill.  Making my Templar vulnerable to attack.  So goodbye to my Wrath of Heaven/Spell Purge combo.

 

Anyways, my mind is make up.  Goodbye Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Why is this one particular move 4x stronger than any other move they can do? They aren't assassins. Just as condescending as always I see Drasca.

You know something's wrong when you can survive a red templar assassins thousand cuts attack but not an archers evade shot. ;)
