So geth scanner no one has a problem with even tho its OP as ****, but everyone has a problem with armor compartments. Everyone has a problem with the Reegar carbine but not the Venom even tho the Venom makes it easier to kill everything with the stagger it makes. No one has a problem with grenade capacity or using the GI, but using the TGI or AIU is OP, even tho good players with the GI will do better than a TGI or AIU. People have problems with Snap Freeze being bugged but warp incendiary ammo is okay, just like the weight glitch is okay but other things that outscore you arent okay.

If that's drunk logic, it's razor sharp. However, here on BSN, logic is Not Okay.

OP weapons are definitely not OK. And you're a ****** if you use any SMG except the Hurricane.

But I think the issue is with the ease of use.  You actually have to somewhat aim the Venom strategically to be effective, as opposed to the Reegar.

Armored compartments are usually used by scorewhores who spam their rockets on objective or extraction waves.

TGI & AIU both have crazy survivability.  They do have pretty good damage output to boot.  The GI is relatively a glass cannon in comparison.

 

Geth Scanner is a pretty good "I Win" button, but you still have to be able to kill in the end.  

 

Grenade capacity... never thought about it.  Sure, it's OP, but why the hell shouldn't you be able to carry lots of grenades?

Okay = things that require sensible build and a certain degree of player's skill.

 

Not Okay = things that require minimal or no skill at all to be devastatingly effective.

What's OK: Using whatever whichever that you consider fun while chanting the mantra "screw everyone that whines about OP this OP that, they're not paying my copy of game" and play with the intent of helping out team members.

 

What's not OK: Wahhh wahhhhh people are using stuff I don't like wahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhhhhh. Also, not equipping anything on Gold and/or Platinum. For Gold I usually go regardless if I have at least one other guy properly equipped, but Platinum, **** no, equip something you arse.

Hey, everything is ok with me. The only time I might feel slightly annoyed is with Reegar players who know how to use it and melt everything from everyone´s imaginary grasp, because then people are just left with nothing to kill and that´s not lot of fun.

 

But anyway, my two cents why these things don´t get as much flank.

Geth scanner in the end only improves your awareness. There is no direct damage bonus, which is why many casuals probably won´t take it.

Venom is kind of...weird...to handle. Off host at least. I don´t know, sometimes it murders several mooks in one go, other times I have to shoot three times at single Centurion. And you need to calculate projectile bullets into your aim and it sucks against bosses.

GI isn´t as easy to use as TGI and AIU which both have very high survivability and are VERY forgiving, while GI goes down easily.

Snap freeze bug doesn´t require anyone to do anything other then just use the power. Most of folks probably have no idea that it´s not working properly while Warp+incendiary requires player to know how it works and to actively try to exploit it.

 

Also, don´t fall off wagon, it´s bad for your knees.

As long as you aren't doing something that takes away from my enjoyment of the game (missile glitching, not helping with objectives etc...) I really don't care what kit/weapon you use, just don't be an arse.

Any load-out done purely for efficiency, without taking RP or "cool" factors into account is not OK; Reegar on a QME / QMI is fine, Reegar on a KroGuard not so much

PS. Geth Scanner really helps make up for kits not being able to dodge. Because totally having a Phantom pop up your butt is totally not cool.

As yesterday I did run into new to Gold Mr.Avenger8, Mr.Geth Pusle RIfle7, and a Mrs.BlackWidow1 on Rio Cerb, with me being BatSent with just Typhoon and Explosive ammo. Yet we somehow played as a full team and totally got full extraction too. Totally made my epeen shine. And I'll be darned if I let anyone take that away from me. (Looking at you fake epeen Hurricane GI's who think that's totally cool for Gold).

 

And this is how I know what's fine or not.

 

 

Platinum I don't care how OP folks want to go. Why when I can still get a challenge from trying to extract with weak no consumable pugs on Gold with just Explosive Ammo & kits like the BatSent? Why all OP Gold lobbies need to be ninja'd to Platinum. The land of anything goes.

People love to arbitrarily decide what are acceptable classes/weapons for others to use. You can use whatever you enjoy using and disregard anyone who complains about it. Frankly players who have unlocked the majority of their manifest and know the mechanics of the game can roll with nearly anything and do well.

 

I will say about the reegar that without Incendiary ammo cheese with piercing mods it is far less effective than the community likes to make it seem. As for Geth scanner it is ridiculously good, but the overlay is so damn awful that I hated using it.

The Geth Scanner, to me, is in the same class as things like running with the pizza, nova canceling and using the Arc Pistol. Due to mechanics, it's annoying if not downright painful to use. It is indubitably effective and makes games easier, but my eyes (rather than my fingers and wrists, like the others) suffer for it, so I don't use it much.

 

Also, the Geth scanner, as has been said, doesn't increase damage output, it only helps with awareness. If your awareness is already good, then it doesn't add a whole lot.

Ah, Sinful, you amuse me so much.  Skipping your meds again?

 

I take it you do know that Explosive Ammo is even more useless on the Typhoon than 90% of the guns in this game, don't you?  For the benefit of those who don't, Explosive ammo is widely dismissed on BSN for being crap, because it is, but a lot of people seem to be unaware that its 'explosive' effect doesn't work at all on rapid-firing weapons, until after the last round is fired.  The challenge of timing a Typhoon burst so that you don't actually kill enemies with the gun, but with the ammo effect, is a form of masochism beyond sanity.

 

(Edit:  I've just read your post in the ammo thread, which describes your technique, so I will give you credit for actually understanding how it works, but to advocate wiggling the Typhoon around as a playstyle is kinda ridiculous)

 

As for 'kits like the BatSent', who is one of the greatest weapons platform tanks in the whole game - you really do continue to entertain me with your skewed perceptions.  It would be possible to build him without any points in Shockwave or SubNet at all, and still wreck everything by moving in and out of soft cover with your finger held on the Typhoon's trigger, while his Shields recharge in around a second.  He's feckin indestructible.  If he could dodge he would be a genuine top tier character.

 

As for what's ok?  Everything that isn't cheating, by which I pretty much mean Missile Glitching. 5 6s builds aren't for me, but play what you want, when you want, how you want.  All I would ask is that you please follow the advice of The Bible: The Abridged Version, which succinctly states, "Don't be a c*nt."  I regard playing on Gold without some form of consumables as 'being a c*nt', but I put up with it regularly because the player base isn't what it used to be. 

 

I played an AIU / Reegar last night.  I'm going to play a GI / Jav today.  After that I'm probably going to play a BatSol with Venom and Grenade Capacity and Incendiary Ammo.  Hell, I might even play a GT Flamer with Acolyte! Will I be worried about if I score too much or too little?  No, because I'm not 12 years old.
