So I logged onto my facebook page to see one of your latest posts advertising a life size doll that is suppose to be Alistair.... What.....the.... HELL??!?!? It looks NOTHING like Alistair! It's not even close to being Alistair, not even 1 percent!

Alistair.jpeg

Even Alistair greatly disapproves of this doll.

Instead of decieving us all by making lifesized dolls of charecters that is non-existant in the Dragon Age world, and proclaim them to by a certain charecter why not focus on T-Shirts among other things? I'm certain that you can find someone from deviantart (Please I highly recommend it) to help you to make the art.

It might be the manufacturer they chose.

Doesn't matter. Bioware is still charging 150 dollars on this product that they say is a figure of Alistair... and it isn't. Read the facebook comments to see that not everyone is buying it.

It's a good swindle though. Some people will buy

Looks like him to me. Aside from the face which is slightly different, but it's a doll/toy. Be glad they started with him, I'd have preferred someone else.

The only charecter that I could even think of that has some resemlance of this doll is Cremisius Aclassi. It looks slightly like her with Alistair's hairstyle.

I can sorta see the resemblance but not quite.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

But are you really surprised?  They've never really been able to get his face right or really be all that consistent with it.  Honestly though, if they didn't tell me it was Alistair from DA, I probably wouldn't have ever realised.

It's a shame, I would have bought it if it had a closer resemblance.

Oh well.....  *sits down and waits for decent figure*

The model looks to be accurate, it's the paint job that is ah.... off, I think.

Hum.

FYI: Please do not even try to "fix" my post by inserting wrong pronouns when talking about Cremisius Aclassi. I've gotten a lot of flack over discussing it here by the mods, and I don't need you to lure the bait for furthur this argument. Either accept me calling her a her or don't even read my post at all. I'm obligated to accept your decsion by calling her a him while you're obligated to do the same.

Anyhow back to the subject.. I hope this is one giant joke... but unfortunately I do not see it considering the fact that they're actually selling this doll for such an outragous price.

The outfit is a decent reproduction of the one he wears in the comics, so I was actually  pretty impressed with it.

I won't be picking it up, but that's just because I'm not interested in Alistair, but if they did a similar figure for another character I probably would - I'd see the figure as a display stand for the clothing, so close-enough on the face is good enough for me.  I imagine that the market for the figure would be other people who feel the same way about clothed action figures but like Alistair more than I do.

While i think your going nuts over this OP, i do agree he looks very little like Alistair... Funnily enough when i played Inquisition i thought the same when i met him in game haha, I thought that doesn't look like Alistair at all  :o

Agreed with Dante, but I feel the need to also point out that this isn't particularly EA, Bioware, or the Bioware store's doing. Granted, some higher-up at EA gave this the green light, but any fault in the model likely lies with the creators; "ThreeZero" - just sayin...

It's the same for me with the Liara Mass Effect figures and art.  She does look a certain way and many 'artists' miss the mark enough that I'm not going to spend $15 let alone .$350.   That Alistair repro is def off. wrong chin, wrong nose placement for obvious errors.
