Everybody likes to laugh. What kind of comedy do you like? Do you like stand-up? Slapstick? Word humor? All of the above? Which stand-up comics do you think are the funniest? Of course, just remember that humor is subjective, so something you find funny, someone else won't, and vice versa.

Carlin is good. C.K. Louis is another favorite. A few others but I'm too tired to remember them off the top of my head.

The kind of comedy that both make me cackle while also going "Oh ooooh dear" is perfect with me

Slapstick is ok. I mainly like Dry/Deadpan humor. Things like the Office (UK&US) and Arrested Development. Both have a great mix of slap and dry humor.
Louis C.K., Dave Chapple, Patton Oswalt, and Hannibal Burris are my favorite standup comedians right now.

Ranges from the kind of dark humor one would find in a Coen Brother film, or the sorts found in trangressive ficiton like the writing of Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) or Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Survivor), to clever and slap-stick kind like Monty Python or The Simpsons pre-Season 9. Discworld is a novel series that carries a lot of humor I like.
I could mention a few specific comedians I like but since a lot of them are local I doubt it would mean anything to mention them.

Their earlier stuff was a little too.. New-Wave for my taste, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own.
Commercially and artistically.

George Carlin is excellent.
He really is, was a brilliant and intensely controversial man. Very sad that he's no longer with us.

So the toothbrush scene.
Probably get perma'd for posting it outside the anime thread tho.

Let's also not forget musical comedy:
Bo Burnham is great, and The Lonely Island are the funniest part of SNL (which isn't really saying much, but TLI are consistently good).

Black as **** humour. Unless you and I have shared a racist or morbid joke, we are not friends.

Dry humour and dark humour.
Also err... well...
Whenever I have sex, it's a race to see who comes first.
Me or the police.
Awful stuff like that for people with morals.
