So I have to admit almost all DLC I buy is impulse purchasing.  I just love the game and HAVE to see what this DLC is all about.  But now with Jaws of Hakkon I don't have to worry about that.  It will have been out for about two months before I can even think about buying it so there goes the impulse.  And I can just go to you tube to see what little story stuff they put in.  So to bring this to a point timed DLC is a poor practice.  There will be zero chance I will end up buying this or and future DAI DLC  since by the time I could get it I will have already been able to see it all.

We all knew DA:I DLC was going to be a PC/XBone timed exclusive before the game even came out, it's why I wasted like $400 on an XBone.

+JasonPogo.

What you say in essence is you wont buy the coming DLC because you only care about the story elements and have no desire or mind to actually PLAY games you do buy.

I don't mean any disrespect here but that's kind of sad. Its also rather daft you took time out to actually come on these forums just to say you wont. Tip. NO ONE CARES.

Why did you play DA:I if you only want the story?

Gotta love it. I remember on the Skyrim boards there was a lot of kvetching by Xbox players about the PS3 getting DLC a couple of weeks before them, all the while forgetting that PS3 people had to wait 6 months to get DLC that came out on PC and Xbox just previously.

So we have to wait two months. Big friggin' deal.

(to JasonPogo) From my impressions, it'll only be the first DLC that'll be exclusive meaning the future story-heavy DLC will avoid that so if that is the case then I don't mind that this is the exclusive even more so because I won't be able to buy it until possibly around May because of financial reasons. I'll be waiting to see videos of it until I can play it myself.

I'm of the opinion that to a lot of people there is a difference between playing a game and seeing it played. At least that was the case for me with Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2, the latter of which I couldn't play until well after its release date because of computer-related issues. I kind of regret spoiling myself to a lot of its events but I still enjoyed the game immensely and repeatedly.

According to the pre-release announcements only the first dlc is time released.  That being said however, I am on the fence about buying this dlc unless the price somehow drops before May.  15 dollars is really high for so little content.  We shall see...

It has an area with exploration that make sense in terms of the story and the npc's react to what you've done in the game so far.

No sane person plays Bioware games for the actual gameplay. Bioware's hamfisted mechanics are something you endure in order to experience their well written story and characters. I've never heard anyone exclaim about the quality of the combat in DA or ME, all they talk about is the epic stories and cool characters they get to hang around with.

I feel the same way as the OP. I won't be buying this DLC and I'm usually the type to buy all DLC for games I like. I totally disagree with Requiemslove. I think its very important that I don't buy this DLC, so I don't support this type of pratice. But its even more important that topics like this are created. Just losing sales is not enough EA/Bioware needs to know WHY they are losing sales. It's very important to those of us who are upset enough to speak with our wallets that EA/BW knows WHY we are not purchasing this DLC, otherwise our boycott would be pointless.

You might be asking WHY? is it so important that they know WHY we are boycotting their products. Its very simple economics. When the next DA or ME gets released and they get another deal offered from mircosoft or sony. The only way they are going to say no to the deal is, if its a bad deal for them. If they will lose more money/customers from making the deal then they would from accepting it, It's highly unlikely they would accept it. If we simply just stop buying their DLC and products EA/BW will have no idea why they are losing money/sales.

Thats why its important that we specifically tell them why. Otherwise when microsoft goes to offer them THE NEXT deal they will have no idea of all the money they lost from accepting the last deal.

The money from the deal, might be more than they earn from DLC.

Yea I realise it was a daft statement, however you miss out on some fun things just watching all the story bits of the game and not the inbetween stuff.

Well seeing as your issue correlates directly with the thought others shouldn't get a thing before you/us [because I too have to wait...and I don't actually care] more smacks of bitterness. This is simple. Its about the xbox one and sales of that. Microsoft beat out Sony for the PS4, for an exclusive, and the old 360 and ps3...well if like me, you are using one of those you should learn to accept those consoles ARE being phased out. I totally understand your view, I just think its a pointless one to have.

This is just a bit of game DLC, there are far more important things to concern yourself about. Getting all pious and questy and "this is WRONGy" will get you nowhere, and make others think you are silly. Oh, and if you think boycotting this DLC will affect that company, you are abjectly wrong I am afraid.
