My personal prediction is that DA4 will move to Antiva and Rivain, so my prediction is a Rivaini Seer. Yes we've had an abomination before, but with centuries of tradition I imagine we could get a much more stable and interesting result.

Nice. If we're going to Antiva, I want a Crow origin story. You don't know who your birth parents are... until the day you are tasked with their assassination.

I hate werewolves.  :( Talking werewolves sound like they have massive sinus problems. Dayum Swiftrunner, wanna hock a loogie?

They could always fix that, but if it was a shapeshifting companion then I'd be more interested. Frankly I kind of find werewolves to be boring.

To continue with another spirit character, maybe another mage binds a spirit (ala Zathrian) to a more interesting creature, like a liger or other enormous kitty.

Broganissity presents: Mabari inhabited by a Spirit of Honor.

--------------------------

Protagonist:
Joke response: "Who's a good boy!? WHO'S A GOOD BOY!?"

Honor:

(Tail wagging) "Stop scratching at my ears! I am a Spirit of Honor, <PROTAGONIST TITLE or RACE>. I have come from across the fade to aid you: I am no do- hey that's....rather nice, wait- what's that smell?"

Protagonist:
Auto Response: "That would be 'bacon', Honor."

Honor
"Well...it would be a great dishonor not to have some, wouldn't you agree?"

Protagonist:
Joke Response: "Are you...begging for a treat?"

Honor
(Sitting on hind legs, giving those sad puppy eyes) "Nonsense, begging is a dishonorable act!"

Protagonist:
Joke Response: "You words say no, but your eyes say yes."

--------------------

...yeah that's as far as I've gotten with that joke.

...otherwise? Qunari Saarebas, an Avaar, or something of a similar nature.

Nice. I heard the Spirit of Valor from the mage origin in DAO in that dialogue.

That was sort of what I was going with, but I decided a Spirit of Honor would work instead with the dialogue.

Also Mabari and all the dog jokes.

I'd like a demon companion. Each installment we've had spirits.

Or maybe even one of the original magisters to see their insights.

What about the Architect as companion? Yes, please!

(And LI. Has to be LI!)

I don't get why not even The Bigot mentioned it.

Druffy!

In the next part of the Dragon Age series he'll be damaged goods, rejected by the Inquisitor who first saved his life, guided and guarded him... just to sell him to the person he fled from. High potential for a special character and love interest!

Druffy gone rogue.

I'd quite like someone like the Lady of the Forest.

You'd have a job sneaking her into a city though. But you can get away with a golem and a corpse, so what the hell.

Yeah, Shale was tricky. I never took her to Denerim or Redcliffe, though this is obviously irrelevant since she stands around inside the estate in the end.

But as for Justice, I always equipped him with a helmet that covered his face, and never spoke to him when in the city of Amaranthine. The only time it came off was when he was talking to the dead Warden's wife. Gaw I hated having that guy in the team. Never again man. Don't want no zombies.

I'm still holding out for eventually being allowed a Rivani wise woman as companion.   This would also tie in with previous spirit/companion theme since they are said to deliberately allow themselves to be possessed by spirits (possibly a spirit of wisdom) and clearly have a different relationship to spirits than the majority of Thedas.    With us likely to be heading north next game, I'm really hoping this will happen.

^Agree with the possessed Rivaini wise women. Would be an interesting companion.

Definitely would love to see an awakened darkspawn as a companion. Just no broodmothers please they terrify the hell out of me. :shudder:

An ancient elvhen like Abelas.

I'd like God Child Kieran too but he lost his Godlyness to Flemeth so he's just a plain old Soporati. :/ Maybe he could retain some special powers though?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Morrigan's ritual had never been performed to stop a blight before DAO, and it seems like there would be a source or precedent for the Dark Ritual. What are the consequences of the existence of a child of the Dark Ritual or its previous forms? Can such a ritual extend the life of an ordinary man so that he shows up in a future DA game?  :D

An awakened Darkspawn - like the Messenger from DA:A. But then every member of your team either has to be a Grey Warden or needs another protection against the Taint. So, not easy to pull off.

Well only if they attacked their party members they'd get the taint. If they're "good" you wouldn't have to worry.

ANNNNDDD if available as a romance option, your main character must be a grey warden! Anyone else for some darkspawn lovin'???

How on earth do we not have a darkspawn disciple already?

Also, I saw a few people mentioned the  taint above and how the pc has to be a warden if it's a disciple, oh pleaseeeeee

This is bio-"did you check if leliana was dead"-ware we're talking about, if they can rez a character like that, merely for plot convenience, they can easily go "well, it turns out a darkspawn disciple who has been awakened for some time stops spreading the taint".

Well I only meant the PC has to be a grey warden if you wanted to romance said darkspawn party member. A normal PC romancing the darkspawn would get STT's! :o Sexually Transmitted Taint!

Well, according to the epilogue slides of DA:A the Messenger tainted travelers only by having contact with them. So, there has to be some kind of protection to provide a permanent companionship.

Darkspawn as romance option? Never! Why would one even? I would want to have one as companion to gain a better insight in the Taint and Darkspawn in general.

It's going to be a krogan, who has unintentionally stepped through an eluvian. When you meet him, you'll get an option to say, "that's a ...nice... club you have there." and he'll answer, "This isn't a club, you stupid pyjak! It's a M300 Claymore. I've been shooting things all day, and ran out of thermal clips an hour ago. The hell kinda planet is this???"

So far every DA game has had that one companion whose unique outside the basic human, dwarf, elf, qunari companions.

DA:O - Shale is the most special of the companions in this regard being a Golem(former female dward), Dog can also fit being a dog.

DA:A - Justice is the next special companion being A spirit of justice(who later possess a corpse of a grey warden)

DA2 - more tricky but I can consider Vengeance Anders to be the special companion since he is a abomination(while Wynne was one also her spirit did not give us the interactions that Vengeance did).

DA:I - has Cole as the special companion being a spirit of compassion that becomes a human or human like, and of course if you want you can also add solas but like wynne I wouldnt consider him one due to that aspect of him not being explored while he was a companion.

Now that we have these examples what is the next special companion that people want? A demon? a awakened darkspawn?

For me I would like to see DA:4 either add a werewolf companion or a awakened darkspawn companion, mainly werewolf due to besides the ones we meet in origins they still exist in thedas and I would think one would make a interesting companion seeing that some want to live at peace with humans. I also would not mind a spirit companion again as long as it is a dryad lady of the forest type.

Wouldn't Cassandra be a "special" companion as well? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Seekers "touched" by a spirit of faith after being made Tranquil. Plus, Lord Seeker Lucien says the Seekers are abominations in Cassandra's personal quest lineso it leads me to believe she is possibly possessed by a spirit of faith.

Cass could be considered one but she is about as special as wynne if even less. You don't talk to her spirit its just there. Cass is still a human female like wynne. Shale is no longer a female dwarf she is a golem now. Anders is still human male but vengeance is very active. Justice is genderless but masculine. same like Cole who is on the verge of being human male. Solas is like a hidden special companion.
