Would a mage who has consumed the well of sorrows be the most powerful mage alive?
Think about it, you're already a powerful mage in your own right but now you have the powerful ancient knowledge of the elves at your disposal.
What do you think?

My will is not my own.
My will is not my own.
While that is somewhat true, it's a price to pay for the unlimited power.
And honestly, Flemeth even mentioned it as if she didn't really think of you as a "servant" per se. So Mythals intentions may be decent.

WHY CAN'T MAGES DRINK DRAGON BLOOD.
God dammit Bioware.
Morrigan drinks from the Well and she can turn into a Dragon. You drink from the Well and you can tame a Dragon. So if you can sift through all of the voices to get at any special ancient elven magics, then yeah you're going to be a great Mage.
What exactly does the whole "servitude to the will of Mythal" entail?
What exactly does the whole "servitude to the will of Mythal" entail?
We don't exactly know for sure, but I remember when you meet Flemeth in the fade and you ask if you're a servant, her response is pretty much that "servitude/slavery" isn't what she had in mind. So I'm sure it can't be "that" bad.
well it also has her controlling your body, potentially. You can try and attack her and she'll be like "LOL nah" and either have Morrigan backhand you or if Morrigan tries something have you grapple with her.
It basically means you lose your autonomy whenever FleMythal wants.
Indeed so. Not acceptable. What's the point of all that knowledge if I lose control of myself?well it also has her controlling your body, potentially. You don't get all the knowledge ,you only get what the voices (and I suppose Mythal) want you to know.

Then why is Morrigan willing to drink it?
Then why is Morrigan willing to drink it?
Because she had no idea of the true cost until it was too late.
Then why is Morrigan willing to drink it?
Because thought that Mythal was dead and thus couldn't use the servitude curse on her.
She was very, very wrong on that one.
While that is somewhat true, it's a price to pay for the unlimited power.
What unlimited power?
The Inquisitor can barely understand the whispers that they hear and the dragon control thing that they do seems limited only to the Guardian of Mythal. Also, unlike Morrigan, the Inquisitor can't seem to use the Well's knowledge to learn about the Eluvians or the fall of Arlathan. They just get a pet dragon that dies fighting Corypheus and that's it.
So much for unlimited power.
Because thought that Mythal was dead and thus couldn't use the servitude curse on her.
She was very, very wrong on that one.
And she is either very grateful in the end for an Inquisitor who drinks, or has the absolute best reaction upon realizing she is bound to the very person she had been spending her whole life getting away from.
See, you're better off just chugging sweet dragon blood.
We are born of the blood, made men by the blood.

I'm wondering how a reaver mage would play like.
This is why I had my mage drink it. I really wish I could turn into a dragon like Morrigan did though. That should have been a thing for mage inquisitors.
Well, yeah, in time you might even learn to shape-shift into a dragon. I always kind of liked the hypothesis that Andraste was a mage, and so much was made of her singing, that I wondered if she knew a form of magic that has since been lost. Obviously the Chantry suppressed the knowledge of magic its Templars could not overcome (I mean no one teaches shape-shifting in the Circle, but Morrigan can do it.). So, by drinking the from the well, you should at least have access to the full range of elven magic including Arcane Warrior and all those lovely Force spells that went missing after Kirkwall. Right?
It still bothers me how a dalish mage cant make much use or sense of the wisdom of the well.
While Morrigan, a human, with some history books - seem to become Professor Uber-elf.
