Actually in the aftermath of DAII and probably the very early stages of DA:I
That... is not really true. There was a long period between the death threats and quitting.
It says at the end of the article that she did not leave due to the death threats.
Update:
Jennifer Helper has contacted us to make it clear that she did not leave BioWare as a direct result of the harassment she received at the hands of gamers.
‘BioWare was tremendously supportive of me during that time, and I have experienced nothing like it since, due to the excellent policing of the BioWare Forums and new policies on the BioWare Social Network,’ she told us in an email.
‘I am moving on from BioWare now to pursue other opportunities that let me return to be closer to family in the United States after a wonderful eight years in Canada. I have no intentions to leave the game industry — I love the work that I have done and the reactions from the vast majority of fans and look forward to continuing that work in other venues.’
They used to.

I'd just like to know that they know auto attack is still an issue, tooltips on the skill bar need to happen and allow us to zoom in while in combat. Three things that would bring this game from a 7/10 to a 9/10, it will finally be worthy of carrying the Dragon Age name!
You should have seen what I posted....in the end it's just not worth it.
Yes, well, my friend Killabee loves to be dramatic. Forgive him this once.
Definitely agree that auto attack needs some tweaking and about tooltips, but I'm confused about the zoom during combat part. I use tac cam exclusively (which I can zoom in or out at will), can we not change the zoom of action cam during combat?
Or are you talking about something else?

Personally I think they hate us here and here specifically. It's not like they don't engage their fans, so all the lovely defenses of the difficulties they face that preclude them from said engagement seem a bit hollow. You just have to go to tumblr or facebook or twitter to do it now.
That being said, lack of response to the complaints either in words or in patches is not proof that they're not reading, even if they do hate us. (Allan's hate being the most prodigious of all.)
'Hate?' That's a rather extreme emotion to infer.
And as for lack of response, there are 6 (soon 7) patches of response.

Not extreme enough as far as Allan is concerned, I'm sure.
I know they're patching the game. But they're obviously not going to respond to every single concern anyone has ever made known here in a patch, which I sensed the OP felt entitled to.
Yes you're quite right, this is not a Q&A board and feedback received does not always necessitate a comment.
I've never seen Allan 'lose it' in a thread, so unless you have 'insider knowledge' I'm not sure how accurate it is to determine how someone else feels.

The Allan thing is just a joke based on the curiosity of his previous chattiness and utter silence currently. I think you need a softer couch to ride tbh.

ok, that wasn't clear ![]()
(I understood he was working on 'other things'...)

Having surgery and his jaw wired shut for almost a month would probably do that

Oh my.
In either case I hope he comes back soon!

^Another depiction of Allan totally not hating and wishing us all painful death.
Hmmm, weird. I wonder why they did that?
It would seem to remove the 'immediacy' of the action combat, or rather, reduce it. Strange.
It is! I really don't like it! I seem so out of the combat.
As an european I had to wait a few days longer then the american release. I visited this forum just a few hours after release. The forum was allready toxic by people who had non stop negative critique. I doubt those people even got past the character creation. It simmered down about 3 to 5 days later when people appeared who actually played the whole game and came in writing their opinions.
Sad to say but times have changed dramaticly and being negative is in and being civil is out. It seems to be a group thing too.
I also visited the forums just a few days after the American release. And what your say is true. It has been my experience as well.
But let's face it: unfortunately, there's a lot of people who abselutely hate Bioware with a deeprooted passion. I'm not one o them, but I often encouter people at game websites I visit who express their hate for Bioware. And it is either 1) because they want games like the old gold box games or like Ultima 4 or 7 or games like Baldur's Gate or Fallout 1 and 2 as they think Bioware has betrayed their fanbase by making more cinematic games, games without a silent protagonist or games with a dialogue wheel or by straying away from the realtime with pause combat. Let me clear here: I don't hate Bioware or their games or their developers, but it seems as if some people do. Also, it seems as if some people think the games Bioware make is made just for them. And for not for other people who play Bioware games.
My qualified guess is that it seems to be some of these people who came to the forums just after the game's, DA:I's, release.
And posted those negative comments. Simply because they could. I also agre that it died down after 3-5 days when people who played the game came into the forums; when they started to explain how they experienced the gameplay and the story, the negative comments sort of died out. Also, it seems (as least to me) that the Bioware devs. wanted 3-5 more months to finish the game so it could be in the state is in it now (as pr. April 2015). I have to point out everytime, it seems, that it is not Bioware who decides when a game is published, it is EA as the publisher that does it! And Bioware as a company has to obey these orders from EA... When a game they develop is being published by EA.
And just for the record: I liked Dragon Age 2. But seen in hindsigt, it should probably have been called DA: Hawke's Story or something similar. I actually liked the fresh approach to storytelling, trying to tell a story within a frame with an unreliable narrator (Hawke). Then again, I'm a teacher who among other subjects teach Danish tomy students. Meaning that I understand what an unreliable narrator is. (or else you can google it
). Now playing the game again, I can certainly understand the problems some people have with this game e.g. enemies apperaring out of thin air, the wave combat etc. However, I still maintain that the story in this game is far way better than the usual join a secret organisation, go slay the big bad thingie/monster/enemy, and save the world. Again.

Lol I find it funny how some people are blaming the fans for this fallout with the devs

Constructive criticism (that I agree with, tbh) from a member of the BSN since '01 and yet no aura of entitlement ("...loyal fan to Bioware..." "...been around since BG....") whatsoever? I tip my hat to you good sir. ![]()
I think one of the biggest issues with (any) fandom is the over the top drama. It seems that some fans have no actual problems in their real life to be concerned about.
They do but its usually in their spare time.
