And why shouldn't we? Why do you hate choice?

Here's the problem...

He wants to kill you. He wants to cut off your left hand and kill you.

And He is so arrogant he does not want to even talk to you.

He sees you as an ant and will kill you like one.

So.....That plan is a no go.

I think we should finally be able to choose between allying with Mages or Templars in a Dragon Age game.

That sounds cool and original, we've never done that before :D *sarcasm*

I'm not sure he'd be into those things... Do they even have facials and mani pedis in Dragon Age?

Of course they do! They are not total savages.  Have you seen Cory's long claws? Yeah, that guy regularly gets a manicure.

And he has a stylist for his clothes. They're matching his skin tone so well!

Actually hiring Cory as an agent for Inquisition would be awesome  Fighting against the Architect with a party like Inquisitor, Corypheus, Cory's Dragon, Flemeth's Guardian Dragon

Pretty sure it would boil down to  "My dragon is bigger than yours!" with Iron Bull ending it with "I have the biggest dragon in my pants."

Cory: The throne of the Maker was empty!

Inquisitor: ...

Inquisitor's Dragon: Rawrrr

Cory's Dragon: Rawrr

Can't imagine anything other than that :D

Or perhaps it would be like Warden Commander Cousland - Nathaniel Howe party banters.

Oghren: You're Rendon Howe's little blighter?

At the very least we should be given the option to attempt to join him by asking (causing massive disapproval with our companions ;)

What bothers me more is why we cant use the anchor to attempt to enter the black city ourselves.

Well, the Black City is kind of a big deal...

Still, I'd love to see the Anchor explored more, the Hakkon DLC was a pleasant surprise from the gameplay side of things in that regard.

Computer games and Bioware games in peticular gave the illusion of choise within their games.

If the startrek "holodeck" becomes reality you will get the best illusion of real choise.

Holodeck porn.... you know that would be the #1 reason for it's creation. XD

Then we should be able to give our life to him. Y'know, a choice? That thing Bioware sells itself on? Why don't we have that choice, ESPECIALLY if we resist being the Inquisitor? A way to spite Cassandra and Leliana.

It also has to follow the narrative they want to tell

Y'know, for a company that's oh so praised and sells its games on the idea of choice based narrative, there is a startling lack of choice in terms of story progression.

Why can't we ally with Corypheus? Why can't we accept that he is right, and the throne is empty? Why can't we let him fill it? Why can't we agree with his goal of change?

For the same reasons you cannot ally with the Reapers in Mass Effect, cannot ally with the Darkspawn in DA:O, cannot ally with The Mother in DA:A, and cannot ally with the Qunari/Arishok in DA2 (... notice a trend here?)

I wouldn't want to ally with Corypheus. I just kill him, take his power and use it for my own goals

You're a tool to be discarded after he's done with you.

Oh, and he'll also cut off your hand and hang it to a chain that he'll wear around his neck. Or his hips if he makes one side cut to his robe. Those socks and heels.

The only game Bioware had where you could be truly evil was KOTOR (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't played Baldur's Gate or Jade Empire). The Dragon Age and Mass Effect games have all had a "you save humanity/the world" outcome at the end but on your way to that outcome you could be an ******* about it or make morally gray choices. That wasn't going to change with Inquisition.

Considering Inquisition isn't the last chapter of the story and we're still going back to the DA world in future installments, being able to side with the guy who wants to radically alter the world would be a bad idea from a long term narrative perspective. The next game would just end up retconing that ending anyways.

Why not just let us not resist him, then? That wouldn't take too many resources.

That sounds cool and original, we've never done that before :D *sarcasm*

Actually, we were able to do it in DA2 and DA:I. Though in the end Hawke's choice didn't matter and DA:I's was a bit more implicit.

Of course they do! They are not total savages. Have you seen Cory's long claws? Yeah, that guy regularly gets a manicure.

I thought he was sealed away... When would he have taken the time? Who would have done it?

That would be great! And I suppose it's to keep the religion vague.

For the same reasons you cannot ally with the Reapers in Mass Effect, cannot ally with the Darkspawn in DA:O, cannot ally with The Mother in DA:A, and cannot ally with the Qunari/Arishok in DA2 (... notice a trend here?)

A lack of positive interaction with our antagonist? Why is violence always the answer? I'm starting to see what the critics mean about video games influencing people negatively.

That'd be a proper ending. I'd take that over the nothing we have. I'd even fully expect it.

What's wrong with having a non-canon route? Like Darkspawn Chronicles? Or Anderson as councilor? Plus Bio has already shown a willingness to disregard player choice and do what they like. I don't see why they can't allow us a few more freedoms interacting win our antagonist in meaningful and unexpected ways.

meh.ro7434.jpg

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I'll say it till the day I off myself, I am not being facetious.

Also, why can't we romance Corypheus? Bioware has always been about inclusiveness and open-minded romance options. Who's to say that my Qunari mage can't develop an interest in the thousand-year-old darkspawn magister trying to kill her and take over the world? Grow up, Bioware. Get with the times.

That sounds great! I'd love to see what Bioware would do with a romance of a... Whatever Darkspawn are antagonist. It'd give us something unique!

He was in a Grey Warden beauty salon so obviously it was the Grey Wardens. They are really an organization of beauticians, the whole blight thing is just a cover.
