So with all this talk about the HOF, Hawke and Inquisitor, All being big heros in Thedas, I've been thinking of the next game, and how they could make it make sense that they are not the big heroes saving the world.
I have two 'theories' (not really theories because i don't really see them happening, i just don't know what else to call them.)
1. This is the one i'd really like to see happen:
The setting will be anywhere but Orlais/Ferelden, The story will not be a big world ending even but something on a smaller scale, something where it makes sense that not all of the heroes of the world will scramble to fix. Make it more personal but not like Hawkes story, give the protagonist a goal, something like parents killed (cliche i know) and looking for revenge, in doing so finds a plot overthrow the king of the anderfels. I know this sounds cliche and it is but remember that Origins had a pretty cliche story, but its execution and the way the story was told was done brilliantly so it didnt matter. (whereas DA2 had a fairly original story but was executed poorly.)
2. This i can kind of see happening, not that i particularly want it to.
The game starts with cut scenes which show each big hero being killed off,
- HOF (in full armor/robes with helm/hood), being filled with arrows on his return from the west. Bonus morrigan/keiran escaping but devastated if thats your story)
- Hawke being killed near whissheup (Spl?)
- The Inquisitor being killed (maybe poison at dinner).
Then have the story be about who is getting rid of heroes and why.
