I have a lovely model of a blackhawk helicopter and just wondering what these things are attached to the landing gear
Is the front bit some kind of manual control for something or what?

From looking at a bunch of images via goggle it just looks like to me that it is the actual attachment to the frame of the body of the copter. The one part sticking up seems to be just a step used to get into the **** pit. The part in green just above the tire in your image seems to actually be some shocks for the tire.

Testing: cockpit
Result: no, it's not censored if you bother to write correctly.
Its a foot step. the rest is a suspension.
It's the chopper's nipple
Shyte...... I should have realised the front bit might have been a step to climb on. Just the irregular shape had me thinking it was something else...
I didn't know they put a wire cutter there too. I thought those were above the cockpit.
