Hi All,

I opened a module in the toolset using Powerbar, which I now wish to remove from Powerbar's "list of modules to open" when the toolset starts.

I know the file doesn't show if I remove the file from the module folder, but I do not wish to do this. I just hoped there was a way of removing it from the list without removing the module in question.

i.e. Where does Powerbar store/track it's lists of recently opened modules? (I could not find any reference anywhere.)

Thanks in advance.

Lance.

this appears to be it:
<user/local settings/application data>/NWN2 Toolset/Plugins/PowerBar_ROF.dat

but it looks unfriendly to editting. So, perhaps back it up and delete it ... ie, the usual disclaimers apply.

I have a related question: Is there any way to prevent that list of files to open from ever popping up at all?  I find it unnecessary, and more often a nuisance.  I usually go and do other things while the toolset is loading, and that list loves to appear at the very bottom of all open windows, where I have to minimise everything to find it, and if I forget about it, open my modules the normal way, and close the toolset, the toolset remains "open" and taking up memory until I find that little popup window sitting there eventually, since it doesn't appear in the taskbar.

i'd like to get rid of it too, In the same folder:

PowerBar.xml

which holds PowerBarPrefs, but it's kinda sparse inside ...

Hi KevL,

I tried looking for this, but could not find it ... I am using Windows 7 if that has any bearing.

Maybe any other location? (I even tried showing all files.)

In fact, the only Powerbar files I have are the Powerbar.dll and associated ReadMe. i.e I have no XML either.

Cheers,
Lance

For me, it was in C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\NWN2 Toolset\Plugins

I have the XML there.  It looks like a settings file, but as kevL said, there's not much in it, and no indication whether there's anything else that could go in it that would be recognised.

for dark humor:
It's freakin complicated because not only are operating systems different, but i know of at least 3 different "application data" folders on XP alone.

On XP, C:drive there's "Documents and Settings" (who thought up that name?). On Win7 I think it's "My Documents" or the most sensible, "Documents".

Under that are folders like "All Users" and "your user name here" .... personally, I find the NwN2 toolset settings under:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\NWN2 Toolset

( if/when the toolset window goes wonky, stuff in that folder is typically responsible ). And beneath that folder is "Plugins" which is where i find the file, PowerBar_ROF.dat

Oh, and if anyone thinks they can get around it by typing %appdata% into the Explorer address or Run command, that leads to the wrong application data folder ..... on XP at least.

/that said ...

well, after playing around with it for a bit all I could do is delete the .Dat and repopulate the list as needed.

Hi Again,

Well, I searched (fully) and definitely do not have those other files... I even checked the registry. I still have no idea where Powerbar is storing this information.

Any more ideas?

Cheers,
Lance.

I don't know either, but did you try opening a module that is not in the list, close the toolset, then search the totality of your hard drive for files modified today? You'd probably need to unhide all system files first, to be sure none is skipped from the results.

Ah, indeed.  It's Vista, still the best gaming OS in my experience.

Yes, seeing hidden folders is necessary to get to the files, at least on this side.

Hi,

This was my approach at the start ... I still could not find anything. :(

Lance.
