Early this morning I found a new update for Mass Effect 3 waiting for me. I could swear I saw Version 1.10 onscreen--though the patch history only goes to 1.05. After nothing patchwise for how long? (The patch history contains no dates.) This was totally out of the blue.

Anyone have any constructive thoughts on this? Thanks.

If they ever release a new patch, hopefully these issues are fixed ;)

Why would they bother patching something that 3 yrs old?

Why not appreciate the fact that they still are fixing some issues three years later after the game's release?

Yeah when I logged into the MP I got the ME3 update last night.

Don't know what was updated though.

I'd like to know if anything MP-related got fixed (or really anything at all, I'm curious).

Yeah I actually came to this forum for the first time in a while just to find patch notes. Automatic Update on PS3 said they were downloaded last night.  It's indeed version 1.10 when I check my Game Data Utility.

I agree. It's still kind of a mystery though.

Is the size of the PS3's version 12MB?

But why update it today of all days? That's the only weird thing to me.

Ok time for wild speculation and crazy theories . I'll go first.

Mass Effect Next will be getting it's own forum soon.

"You might have noticed a new Mass Effect patch. Just maintenance. No new content in it. Besides, we're making a brand new game..."

Is this just for PS3?

I have my own crazy theories. Will reserve until further changes though. This really could be nothing.

No, it's also for Xbox 360.

I'm consistently (although it is less frequently, maybe once a month) seeing updates to ME3.  I think all that they are fixing are some of the multiplayer bugs and nerfing/buffing certain weapons.

I'm not sure though.

I'm not assuming they'll add new content now, but "maintenance" sounds like bug fixes, so I'd like to know what those are!

lol, it's also on PC and XBL. Hahaha. I just did it. But I hate and despise ME3 for the most part and the MP has gotten old, so I won't play it. April fools I guess. TrollWare continues the meta troll of Meta Effect 3. GG.

I'd guess this might have something to do with ME trilogy remastered on next-gen. I can't imagine why else they would go back to ME3 after all this time unless it was about some product they were working on in the future. ME4 doesn't make sense, but ME trilogy on next-gen sort of makes sense.

Who knows, bioware, patch notes?

Why would they patch the current versions for a remaster?

Why would they patch the current versions for a remaster?

This is just a guess, but if they wanted to try and change the way they stored/collected data so that we could import our ME3 multiplayer unlocks into next-gen. That is also just sort of my optimistic hope. If there is a remaster, I don't want to have to start from scratch in ME3 MP, i want my stuff.

A more cynical guess would be that its probably just some crappy patch to fix some crappy outdated DRM. That is what they did with DAO, the most recent DAO patch was just to fix some broken DRM. So I wouldn't be surprised if this was similar.
