Crafting is supposed to add customization and options. This is well done with masterwork materials and on weapons. Armors however, are bloated with defense slots.
What is the point of having different armors for each tier for each class when they are all bloated with defense, defense and more defense? Superior prowler armor is currently the best armor for all classes that choose to sacrifice defensive stats on their armor for offense / stats.
Almost every armor in the game has defense slots, with a few exceptions. There needs to be a revamp of armor schematics customization for more diversity in crafting slots.
What are your thoughts on this?
Crafting intends to give us options and customization. But armor schematics are bloated with defense slots.

Defense slots are in fact the worst slots.
Crafting is also probably too useful relative to item drops or buying equipment from the store, at least after the early game.

Why can't we just choose which slots are there to begin with? If I want all Utility, or maybe one of each, it should be my prerogative to be able to do that. If you can have 3 in defense, why not the others, and why not be able to choose? A little more variety in which materials you can use would be nice too. Crafting is limited in strange ways like this.

Clearly crafting was incomplete and many issues appeared with overpower that were, well unpleasant. There is a crafting forum that covers a lot of this and constructive elements. Many of the issues can be explained a rushed development especially for the illogical slots relative to the character and the missing and incomplete armors. There is considerable support for a dye slot to change the colors.
