So, I was having trouble finding threatening lobbies, so decided to just solo some routine with a low level templar to farm mace kills, leaving it open for others to join. Didn't get far enough for that to happen, though... 3 games in a row, I've lost connection to session. While hosting... So, DA, you're telling me I can't connect to myself? Anyone ever had this happen?

Not that internet connection speed should matter, and I suppose there could be packet loss that's not shown in a speed test, but I don't think it's my connection...

happened to me too - Opened a Lobby, started, some others joined and then "you lost Connection..."

happened "only" with the Alchemist... I thought it was because of too much Boom Boom! ...

I like this game a lot but THE LAG. I didn't even find evidence of much improved use of things supposedly only good "on host". I don't normally host because I just join random pugs and I'm too impatient to wait for my own lobby to fill up. Seems to go much faster if I just search and join but damn, if you dislike lag, just don't play this game. I had to leave at least 3-4 matches yesterday because it was so terrible. So yes, I can believe that you as the host still experienced issues. I'm not remotely qualified to give opinion on why exactly though lol.

I pretty much host all the time and haven't had too many problems overall.  That said, yesterday just started up a match and CTD about 5 secs into loading.  It just seems so random...

It happened also to me to lose connection to myself (?!?) and I was using the Alchemist.

I've been having rampant losing connection to session errors lately, getting dropped from games because of it. And honestly it didn't happen the much before the recent changes. Thought it was just me

I fully understand and agree with their decision to "ping lock" the matchmaking now. The game barely functions as is. We wouldn't want it getting any worse now would we?

I've had this happen too. And right as the next stage started I got black screen of death...

After this easter I'm so fat I'm going to lag IRL.

The multiplayer session is likely connected with a session server somewhere, that counts things like kills, gold and XP (And also streams enemies as per the 1st of april "joke") - you likely lost access to that server.

Sounds like a L2lag issue. Game is working as intended. Rubberbanding is practice for fallback plan.

Could use more zombie enemies, though. I love wasting abilities on those and finishing a match with 15 kills. Biower pls.

Not surprised...

I guess the so-called "session" is actually EA server thingy (nugs? hamsters?) in disguise, just like in ME3MP, you don't lose connection to yourself, you lost connection to their frigging servers.

happened to me too several times since I upgraded with the DLC. So strange, I've got a fast internet connection and I was the only one connected. Using PS4, connection from Europe

While I attempt to spare people what I'm sure is a trying time by avoiding hosting whenever possible, lately I've gotten tired of getting 'Connection to the session was lost' or 'Hosting migration failed' messages when I'm trying to use the quick match 'feature' or being dumped into a public lobby as lead.

I don't often see people bunny-hop in my lobbies, but I have had people get on the mic and swear at me regarding the lag they are experiencing. And I've had other people get on the mic and politely ask if anyone else is rubberbanding...at which point I apologise for their gaming experience and see myself out of the lobby at the end of the match.

And it's always been hit or miss for me as to whether or not all those things that supposedly are more reliable on-host are actually performing better. Like avoiding the DC's knockdown or the VC's/mage's fire mines. I do feel badly about subjecting others to my apparent lag-fest, but when it takes 10+ minutes to find a lobby you can connect to, only to find that you can't actually play in that lobby because maybe you CTD, or it never loads, or you can't move, or your UI doesn't load, or you end up stuck in a wall or behind a door, or there's just been a hosting migration and you fail that, or you land in an empty lobby 3+ times in a row...you sort of run out of alternatives to hosting, I'd think.

I used to land in sessions where I had to bunny-hop more often than I do now, but I wasn't having such a hard time finding a lobby either. Not quite sure what to make of the whole thing, honestly.

I've had this happening a few times, normally I can't hold a game on my own host for more than a few minutes. Host migration is always a nightmare.

Tonight after the host had crashed, I ended up being the host while nobody else could rejoin on me. After a few mins I lost connection to my own host.

It needs to be said that all my teammates are from my region, we all live within a 600 or so miles radius, so the connection is generally pretty good. I just can't host for them at all.

or worse still, 3 times today I have started up daimp selected ot host a game gone through to the lobby readied up got the tips page and then instead of loading the game crashed ot desktop .......

nothing else is running on my pc theres nothing untoward happening on my performance monitor other than ram spikes to the full 8gb useage from the steady state of about 2.4gb when running normally now it wont release that ram and its still showing as 85% in use despite nothing more than 1Gb actually being used by backround tasks WTF is wrong with dragonage this morning ????

the server was all over the place yesterday as well and today its worse /

I'm ready to give up on the game for good now. The "you have lost connection to the session" errors are becoming intolerable here. In the last hours I could not play a single round, they would always throw that error at me - while I was hosting and alone in the session. Add to the the laughable connectivity issues with the DA servers... why the hell do I need to have a constant connection to EA anyway, when the game is hosted P2P and _clearly_ none of the rewards are transmitted before the end of the session? (because otherwise, why is everything lost all the time when a session fails).
