What's the deal with the War Table? Sometimes the towers markers for operations disappear after I complete them and other times the towers remain. And sometimes there's little yellow diamonds floating above "available" operations and other times there's no way of knowing if an operations is "available" or "completed" unless I mouse over it. This is just confusing and the confusion compounds when I look at my map of Shyhold and notice a Quest Marker in the War Room and look at my journal. I see a list of quest that need to be completed on the War Table but I can't find them there. Why don't ALL "available" operations have diamonds, all "gather X resource" operations have no diamond and ALL "completed" operations either disappear from the map all together or have a completely different map marker? Is there a specific reason the "completed" tower map markers remain on the War Table that I'm missing?

Diamonds above mean that you have not yet clicked on the mission.  So it is still sitting there as being new.  If you click on it and look at it the diamond will disappear.  Exclamation points mean the mission has been completed by your agent but not yet looked at. If you click on it the marker will go away.

I couldn't tell you why some of the missions stay and some go.  The ones that stay seem to have different markers than the ones that disappear.

The marker indicates which Inner Circle advisor you used to complete the mission -- the bird is Leliana, the fist is Cullen, the keys(?) are Josie. This can be important for missions that have a branching sequence of follow-up missions. Which advisor you choose has an impact on the next mission and, for the best sequences, the final reward.

I sit way too far away from my TV to see that.  And it's not a tiny TV.  Man I'm old. :)
