I wish there was some way to manually set stats so that Shelled and Sonsa could be on even footing and truly compare their builds. Although, this post as created by Shelled wasn't originally a, "I have the best build ever!" statement. He just posted his video and replies were mostly *neat* until Sonsa decided to undermine his post with a, "You suck. I'm better," type statement. Of course, then accusations and drama kicked up.
So, at the core of it, Sonsa can solo perilous on his level 10 Reaver with 130+ stats and a different build than Shelled who soloed it at level 20 with 1/3rd the amount of constitution as Sonsa by adding in two abilities to help his survivability.
Grats to both of you for your solo runs.
cheat engine™ deserves the grats, not weedy (sonsa).
there's no need to truly compare builds, I explained why combat roll and war horn is definitively better, and in other threads as well. The guy is just trolling on a brand new forum account with his hacked stats.
Combat roll breaks you from animal stunlock and demon stunlock, any stunlock. War horn is necessary for mitigating damage but not just that, it lowers the cooldown on rampage faster because it aoe's everything in the entire area instantly as it has a chance to crit just like your regular attacks do (plus it lowers armor by 20%). You either get a lucky abyss with your suliven blade anyway, or you don't. So it doesn't matter if they are feared. You can get all the weaken/damage passives by lvl 20.
The guy just doesn't know anything about the game. He's a troll, and a cheater. That's the truth.

The easiest way you can tell is to take a player with let's say my stats currently at 55/55/55. Then take Shelled's build, play style and his neat tips and tricks. After that, use Sonsa's build, and to make it fair, level it up to 20 and take a few passives, but still using the same play style he demonstrated in his video. I can tell you right now that Shelled's build and tactics is guaranteed to let you live longer while with Sonsa's play style you're not going to get past the first room. Face-tanking is not a tactic. No Reaver player in their right mind is going to deliberately eat archer/horror/knight fire and shrug it off like nothing. Nobody is going to look a Templar Shadow in the face and let him stab him, which he did in his video, then walked straight to the next group of enemies without a care. The only reason it's working for Sonsa is because of his massive stats. No player with average stats will ever survive with it.
Well, I have an inherent diplomatic nature, so I can't speak to the cheating accusations, although with Weedy's stated stats, I'm more likely to agree with your accusations or say, "Damn, dude, go outside a bit," than I am to say, "Grats on the leetness." (My apologies if he's confined to a bed due to medical issues)
Also, I definitely find it more impressive for somebody with lower stats to complete a solo run. I know where I'd place my bets if there was indeed some way to equalize you and Weedy's stats - because I know which build I prefer after having tested your recommendations.
/combat rolls out of thread
Although, I found a link to some other data that clearly highlights the better build: http://bit.ly/sYS0Jx
Each point of attributes is increasingly more effective. The cap is 80% damage reduction. You reach the cap at ~140-160 stats. As I said before, YOU take ~2x less damage than him, and could probably take 2-3x more damage than him before going down given your significantly higher HP.
I'm out of this thread btw. You guys figure out your EPEEN challenge nonsense.
There is a part at like 3:35 where he is being hit by 2 archers and a Horror with ranged. He even gets stunned by the Deepstalkers and just sits there stunned face tanking arrows. He get super close to dying and then HoKs his way back up. If i tried playing like this with no sulevin/18 cons/16 dex I'd be on the floor even at level 20. This only really illustrates the need FOR Combat roll which is think is the opposite of his intention.
Damn after i get my popcorns i even made an account to see this mexican novel! Its stupid to see all this no sense discusion LOL It's more than obvious that stats and gear does matter in soloing any ****... for sure no one of ya would soloing perilous whit level 1 gear and crappy stats... Anyway i won't take any merit of shelled and amnesia for they're videos but cmon whit ya stats it's even possible doing perilous as level 1 whit 4 people that knows what they're doing... Please enjoy the game instead of flaming, waisting time arguing whit stupid shits or insinuate that some people hacks to get they're prestige when they're inocent.... In this case i can vouch for Piffle because almost of the time i'm playing whit her and every stuff she does its leggit... All her prestige its the fruit of her hardcore gaming and effort.
To finish this arguing some guys must deal whit they're big ego and admite sometimes girls can be more skillfull and better than them.
P.s: Prestige doesn't mean how good you are in game, it actually means how many hours you spent on it ![]()
i only have 46 constitution. If you think making these videos was easy, it wasn't.
By the way, I just did solo templar on orlesian. Uploading it now for people who want to see how to play this game legitimately, properly, with actual skill.

Nobody is calling her a cheater, and (those who were) stopped after I told them she wasn't. This is completely irrelevant. Amnesia weedy on the other hand (sonsa in the forums), yeah that guy clearly hacked his stats that much is beyond obvious.

OC was a good choice for Solo Reaver. Plenty of cover, big map to manuever. I'm somewhat surprised, but not really, that electric resist wasn't used in place of confuse, and pitch grenade in place of MO, as MO doesn't really benefit the reaver as much on a relative scale (still useful, but stylistic preferences are definitely acceptable).
Pitch is really useful to have since it delays both movement and attack speed, rendering their hypothetical dps in half, and actual enemy dps to nothing as the reaver destroys them before their attacks can complete.
The Marksmen have an electric power shot which shocks.
I probably should switch back to Lightning rune on my Sulevin too, and I would if I were serious about solo, but I just prefer the look of cold. Ah well.

yeah i duno why i thought I might need confusion nades lol, I didn't even use them. Normally I just take fire/spirit res and regeneration but figured I'd switch it up.
Interesting how much longer the Venatori (mix) solo took, because of all the Archer kiting that had to be done.
Fear them Archers!
It could have been shorter as my templar run was faster by 7 minutes than the venatori one, but I played these extra-extra safe and only attacked when I knew I had a very low risk of dying.
Also important to remember all 3 bosses were in that venatori run at the same time, only 2 in the demon run as I killed venatori chick during door 4/5 (she surprised the hell out of me btw), and in the templar run it was only the commander himself as that run was after the april mix.
I was in 5/5 in each video by 12-13 minutes, just played extra careful in 5/5. I wasn't about to do it all over again if one mistake killed me. Considering the templar run on orlesian took 20 minutes, venatori regular without the mixed units and 3 bosses would probably be shorter, prob 18 min or so. Regular demons without the april mix would probably be even shorter than 15 minutes.
But anyhow, didn't do these for speed, just wanted to show how the class itself should be played, and if played correctly it is definitely one of the best classes.
Well I'm glad I don't play on PC because those elitist fanboys seem like complete a**holes. Because clearly stat promotes = skill. Good job Shelled for contributing to the community and showing game play that people can actually follow on their own accounts. Nothing but narcissism and horrendous grammar everywhere.

Off topic.
Good thing grammar nazis are not in full force on BSN.If they were,I wouldn't have more than ten posts
.
It is pretty hard counting every word five times although community is pretty considerate for non-native English speaking members.

Seems very on topic for the attacking nature of some of these posts. The grammar only bothers me when people are talking about how much better they are than everyone else, like they have an inferiority complex they have to overcompensate for. You're good bro

I attack people for not being able to do math. No math (or bad math) = no proof = lazy or dumb.

So for us to become a team it would take a comment like: i am bettar then u bcoz mi 200 weelpawar meenz i hit 500 persent moar demage?
P.S. That was painful to type.

My stats are very much below average and I tried the devour build (instead of war horn) with face tanking. Due to severe lack of skill, I gave up after three attempts as I could not get through the second zone on threatening. War horn is immense help and couples nicely with combat roll or mighty blow. I still fail to see much difference in survival between CR and MB as long as you play conservatively and make good use of cover. Just hiding behind the doorway or corner, waiting for archers/wraith to peek out, MB-ing them following with rampage-war horn-DR spam works quite well IMHO. CR allows a bit more aggressive spawn-rushing but that is still too risky in a solo for me.
Combat roll is mainly necessary against demons. It's useful against animal charge and brute knockdown, or shadow dodging, but I mainly keep it for when going against demons or avoiding templar commanders whirlwind. When you're trying to rampage the demon commander, all those knockdowns it does, with terrors as well, are mitigating most of your damage in the fight whether you're solo or in a group, and when you're not hitting things you're not cooling down your rampage which means you're gonna die relatively quickly against demons.
Basically when I'm grouping with other people (usually in private games), I will intentionally bring the demon commander over to a staircase (right in the middle of any large staircase) because for whatever reason when he is on a staircase he will pop back up in the same exact spot over and over again. So I beat on him with dragon rage/rampage and only because of combat roll I can sustain indefinite rampage. He basically dies in 15-20 seconds, which also makes the run a lot faster. That isn't possible unless you have combat roll.
Without combat roll, for the majority of the fight in a group you're gonna be on your back or feared doing 0 dps to the commander without combat roll. Honestly I'm not even sure if its possible to solo demons without combat roll, one perfectly timed stunlock and its game over.
It's just more versatile than mighty blow is. Mighty blow is mainly used as a knockdown (as a stun), but fear accomplishes the same thing more or less anyway, so I prefer more versatility with combat roll.
CR is not needed to tank DC on threatening in a solo. Just spirit tonic and some regeneration potion are good enough as he's dead in 2-3-4 rampage/DR bursts before he starts screaming. I have yet to get to zone 5 in my perilous solo attempts as I'm dieing to despair demons and wraith projectiles and running out of potions by the end of zone 3 or beginning of zone 4. Also, off host CR sucks and MB rocks for me because you sill have to "catch" the feared targets while knocked down targets stay right there and can be finished usually in 1-2 normal blows. Also, combo detonation is useful and AW trolling is funny if well aimed at the center of their PotA.
But overall, yes, you are probably right.
because you sill have to "catch" the feared targets
You don't have sulevin's blade, do you? Because this gear is a game changer. A lot of the time WH will cause everything to pop Pota and pull everything right in front of you.

In my old build I used both WH and MB. It works wonderfully on both Red Templars and Venatori since there aren't too many things that can knock you down, and for the things that can like Brutes, I use WH before they do knock me down and kill them before they recover. The only problem I really had with that build was demons since there are too many that can knock me down in rapid succession. Drasca told me about the CR build (which I didn't think of sadly). I was very reluctant to let go of MB for CR, but it works. I feel like both builds are viable, with both of them lacking something, but I see more people having success with WH/CR than WH/MB.
