im quite early in the game and i currently play a mage with heal but nothing else for healing, and was wondering how necessary is it for me to go spirit healer (only mage in party). currently i find just heal is fine but i'm worried if i don't go spirit healer i may have lots of problems late game.
how necessary is a spirit healer?

it really depends on what difficulty you have it on, i was playing on normal with dog, my pc (sword/shield), morrigan, and leliana. i was using potions only, it has been rough at times, then i picked up wynne and replaced morrigan...been smooth sailing from that point.

I would say it all depends on your playstyle..my damage dealers are all basically tanks..so I gave Morrigan a heal, put that heal to auto cast in her tactics..and haven't had a problem at all. Massive Armor for both Warriors..and Shale. Kinda feels like cheating at times.
